I am very curious about a what type of shoes do you wear when you go training?
What would you recommend for obedience and protection work? I see that some wear boots during tracking, what is the reasoning? What type of boots are these?

Everyone I know wears athletic shoes designed for runing or hiking over rough terrain--good traction is CRITICAL. In rain, those Muck boots or Muck shoes come out. Some also wear cleated shoes.
Jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt, depending on the weather. In rainy weather, lined, wind/waterproof pants.

boots for tracking, just to keep your feet dry, if needed. otherwise, just shoes. do you think track layers at a reg. or nat. event are wearing cleats and kicking the track in for your dog? not likely.

While I don't need them, I am considering getting my daughter a pair of cleats for for ring training and protection, she is pretty young and slight with a strong young dog.

t-shirt, old glue jeans, lightweight gortex hiking boots or walking shoes. If its cold, same plus polartec 200 jacket topped with gortex shell and gortex cap. I don't hid rewards from my dogs, I teach them trust and delayed gratification- they do good they know they will get their reward......
