Are we going to have a Triple Crown winner after a 36 year dry spell?

I didn't pick California Chrome to win the Kentucky Derby but he did, and quite handsomely I'll add. Then he wins the Preakness and looks strong doing it.

Hmmm...can he do it?

Can he hold on for the additional 1/4 mile?

I hope so.

His number 2 post position isn't the best because he'll have to steer clear of the push for the rail. 

Either way this guy is already worth millions and I'm rooting for the flashy chestnut with four white socks and a blaze.

Well, I asked my eldest son if he would mind driving to his swim meet on his own. And if he would be scarred for life if I wanted to watch the Belmont, instead of his 100 meter fly? I then explained the significance and drought of the Triple Crown. How the red coat resonates ... With the past. I don't think Chrome will surpass Big Red's feat, a crushing 31 length legacy between the winner and the Show. 

And what a show it was! He understood, said, it is OK, mom! Watch your race.

i should make a bet or something, shouldn't I? ....

but I don't have a bookie! Lol!

Upset! 

Not really an upset... tonalist did not run in either of the other two races.

That is what got Chrome's owner.... Upset! Did you hear him complain? He must be very sad, true because still, no Triple Crown. Will there ever be another? 

Yes, he was angry. But it's been a controversy, New, fresh horses popping up in subsequent races and not competing in all three. Not a fair test.

I doubt there will be another, not in my lifetime anyway.

Bummer, I was hoping.
