Oh brother, she's going to wipe out my garden. And we are in RI on the beach. Most likely we will leave for home early, tomorrow. I95 is going to be a mess. We got the dog with us, too.
Ninja,is your family home from the Bahamas?
The weather media is saying all computer models show us getting clobbered.
Batten down the hatches!

Hi Beetree!
No they got stuck in the Bahamas. We heard from them yesterday and they couldn't get a flight out.
They did say where they are staying is built like a fortress. It better be.
I haven't been home all day (golfing) I'm on my way home now. I would expect the Bahamas have lost their power and probably the cell towers will also get knocked out.
My wife is house sitting for her daughter with two Yorkies and a Maltese.
Even when they can finally fly out they may not be able to land up in the northeast. Not a pretty picture right now.
Too bad your beach time is going to be cut short Beetree. But you certainly don't want to be on the RI coast this weekend.

Good thing for the fortress because the weather channel just said 90 percent of buildings are damaged in the Bahamas! Now we are wondering if on Monday, they will cancel school! It is supposed to be the first day for my little one.
Glad I live on top of a hill and have two sump pumps... Except they only work if we don't lose power. This is going to be interesting, moreso than that Earthquake, I think I am going to feel this one! Lol

I just spoke to the wife and she heard from her daughter earlier today and everyone is fine. Where they are staying apparently wasn't damaged.
Now they will fly back and deal with the hurricane a second time. LOL
I think the biggest problem may be the flooding.
It is what it is.
So your little ones first day of school may be cancelled. LOL, Sounds like his/her prayers are going to be answered NO SCHOOL!

Right about now, I'm wishing we had generator. Looking at the projection maps, it doesn't look good for the first day of school. We'll be heading home in the morning tomorrow. My sister is real worried for her beach house, that we are staying in because the storm surge could put the garage under water. They are already 5 ft below sea level, so what do you think a ten foot surge will do?
We took photo's for insurance for her... Hope they won't need them!
Any news from folks in the Carolinas?

I don't know why people like to homeschool, especially with the taxes we pay! But I have friends who do it, and their kids are alright. And how'd you know my home used to be cow town, lol
