By the way, I know some are going to say "Why import when there are plenty of good dogs here in the USA" I know there are but I have been looking for specific bloodlines for several months and I finally found something I like, it's just not from a litter in the USA.

Genetic diversity is better to alleviate problems associated with genetic bottle necking. You could argue the old zPS were better dogs than some of today's modern Czech working lines, but could also argue they had more health problems and were overly defensive/sharp, sometimes with nerve problems and too little prey. I believe blending some of the better and genetically suitable West German working line dogs with the better and genetically suitable Czech/Slovak working line dogs have helped improve the breed. Part of it comes down to salesmanship and branding. "100% Czech lines" is more of a brand than a description of what is being produced. The other side of the argument is that the pure Czech lines have been "sported up" to meet the demands of the sport market. I think the truth is in the middle. Also, my sources tell me that police and military departments are no longer looking for man eaters due to optics and political correctness, liability issues, and not having enough skilled handlers for such dogs.
You mentioned Peter Novotny of Jinopo/Jipo-Me. Look at all of his and Jiri's dogs who are now infused with West German blood.

apples and oranges, LOL I mentioned peter novotny for shipping dogs, said nothing about his fathers dogs
"better " is a matter of desired suitability, more and more police centers and departments are asking, no praying they would get some dogs that would bite something other than a sleeve
also as was not referring to czech lines or german lines , but diversity as a whole, IMO diversity limits predictability in outcome of breeding and that is undesirable in my book

the fake story that many are turning to mals again, dont know where, other than some personal preferences,
about linebreeding one should read what I write, linebreeding as in doubling up names on paper, without the actual breedingdogs having the qualities of the dog your linebreeding on is useless, as that is missing the point of linebreeding
as for Jinopo, he breeds many dogs, some I like, some I dont, but still get a better percentage of policedogs when Im testing jinopo ofspring than when im testing IPO podium offspring in general
