The Desert Blue jays in my area are fat as pigs from all the hotdog bits our club feeds...urm....put down on their tracks.

I have had to chase off many crows.... they are persistant buggers..

Yeah, wait outside, with your .22...
My tracking instructor once had to sit and watch while a man and his dog (on a Flexi) followed her track. The man seemed oblivious to the fact his dog was scarfing down all the food she'd laid on the track! (Which reinforces my low opinion of people who walk their dogs on Flexis...)

Cowards! Prior to laying my track, I brought all necessary equipment outside to speed up our pre=tracking ritual. I also brought out a dslr camera to take pictures of the bastards. I sat about 50 yards from the track, in the shade in an attempt to be inconspicuous. After a little more than 10 minutes......... nothing. So I pack up the camera and head to the house to get Nike (13 month old female). Before I go up the back steps I look back at the track and see 2 crows land in the area where I laid the track. I had a feeling it was the damn crows. When I let Nike out she ran in the direction of the crows and the movement scared them off. I have been using hotdogs. I may have to switch to a darker food and see if that messes them up.

Crows and Buzzards are terrible in Texas and if you find them in the road they dare you to keep coming...and if you hit one in your windshield area , they are most likely gonna be in your lap or you have a seriously damaged windshield.
Turn your Nike loose on them but then everytime he sees a track he will hunt birds...what a delimma...
