Established over 40 years ago by Carl and Jo Pennells, Simnikan has a track record of quality breeding, having produced numerous winners in Breed and Obedience competitions. The kennel name is derived from the couple’s three daughters (Simône, Nicole and Candi). Simône and her husband Trevor Masters are key role players in the kennel and have recently imported a top producing Dam from Germany to strengthen their established blood lines. The passion for the breed has continued into the third generation of family with the Masters’ twin daughters Tagan and Tanika actively involved in the kennel.

The Simnikan philosophy centers on the betterment of the Breed, drawing strongly on the German Shepherd Federation’s Guidelines for breeding. Simnikan also believes in a holistic approach to producing German Shepherd Dogs of good character, courage and temperament, balanced with anatomically correct physique and strength.
