I'm taking Remmi on Tuesday to get fixed. They offered me an option of the cone shaped neck collar or one that is a wide belt like neck collar that I gather works like a cribbing collar on a horse.

Does any one have input as to how these two compare?

I have the Velcro Neck Strap that I used for a Rottie years ago who had a hot spot. Worked way better than the cone. The cone gets in the way of daily activities and looks goofy, knocking things over and all...the strap just keeps the head inline with the body. Kinda like a stiff necked Rottie. LOL I say get the Strap. :o)~

My expeirience with cones in the shelter are always a disaster, LOL.. That being said, Try the collar if it will work for you I think you'll be much the happier.

don't forget ..if all esle fails -- then just try a muzzle - i prefer the basket type in this instance so the dog can breathe easier -- BTW the dog need not wear it if you are present and can keep an watchful eye on you dog.

Go with the neck collar, they are a little more expensive usually, but they really save your legs, furniture, walls, etc :)
