This is a question for breeders AND buyers.
I am preparing my new puppy kits and need ideas.  I was getting my puppy kits from a Iams company, but they are not giving them out right now.  Here is what I have done in the past:
Eukanuba pink folder with ProPlan folder, and Royal Canin folders inside of it.  It came with Eukanuba sample, I also added Proplan sample and Royal Canin samples (to give my buyers a choice)  I always recommend Royal Canin top choice.  I also add, 1 toy, 1 piece of clothing, 1 anit treatment like advantage, 1 collar, and many pamplets on registering, training, titling, and whether to breed your new dog.  Further copies of titles, kors, registration papers and all other important papers on the parents.
Here is the question.

Oops, also the buyer agreement/guarantee, can't forget that :-)

As a breeder what would you put in your packet? As a buyer what would you like to have in your packet?

Thanks,
W

As a buyer, I wouldn't care if you gave me anything, as long as I get a good puppy.

that is true, but if you could have a great puppy and a great kit, what would the kit have in it?

I also add the OFA forms so if they choose to do so, it's right there.

Melissa what a GREAT IDEA!  Thanks!  I will print them up this week.

Don,
I just don't want my buyers to have too many unaswered questions.  I try to list where to get supplies, what supplies I recommend for schutzhund or obedience training and things of that nature.  Or I really like to push working your pet even if they want just a pet, I try to inform them about cgc and bh, just because those "titles" make a pet even better, you know?

cgc info is great. at least a weeks supple of the dog food currently being used. dog training supply links. are the puppies already microchipped?

Collar, toys, and the other stuff is ok, but as I buyer I think it says a lot about myself to be prepared when i get there (collar, leash, crate). Buying toys is a waste of money. Toys and training aids are pretty specific for the dog and trainer. What you feel is a good aid might not be so great to me or something I already have.

My puppies are of course dewormed, vaccinated usually twice, since i start at 5 weeks, because of the increased risk of exposure from what I or Dr o might inadvertently bring home from the veterinary hospital. They are micro-chipped, enrolled in the national database  and sent home with their AKC registraion, not just the application.

I send the reg papers, the microchip enrollment, the vaccination schedule, pedigree, pictures, training recommendations, feeding recommendations, my contact information and all of the knowledge I can provide to them, as well as them knowing that they can contact me anytime and I do answer my phone as well as my emails, always.

knowledge, information, and the comfort of knowing that you are easily accessible and will stand by your guarantee is the best you can send me/buyer home with
