I am a newly registered member but I have used this site for a few years now.  I have looked at the message board to gain insights into how to deal with a really bad problem I am experiencing.  I contacted an advertisement on this site a little over a year ago because me and my wife were looking to invest in a stud male.  Long story short, I paid a substantial amount of money, for me very substantial since I earn a preacher's salary, and excuse after excuse and I have paid for a dog I do not own.  I am a firm believer in integrity and this guy so far has proven he does not.  The guy has run off with both the money and the dog.  I went to the courthouse in his area to file, but he has vanished.

I am not sure if posting this guy's info is appropriate, but in addition to resolving my issue I do not want this guy to defraud anyone else.  At the end of the day I am embarrassed, angry, and my accounts tapped.

Does anyone have advice on how to proceed or am I wasting my time?

Thanks for kind replies.

What country does the dead beat do business in?

I see no reason why the truth cannot be told here.  Of course, it is up to the mods who get to decide what goes and stay...

First, I will say I am sorry for your misfortune. I will say that you have options but either having your money/or dog returned or even the subject caught and justice served is a slim to nothing hope. But there is hope and it will take a lot of work.

I had a few cases where the subjects vanished but with a lot of effort, work, and investigating the subjects were found/caught.

I am only going by what I have read and I do not have all the facts. But a few questions:
Where are you located? Where is/was he located? Do you have a contract? Do you have receipts? Wire transfers?

Now understand; there are good cops, there are good criminals. There are bad cops, there are bad criminals. I don't understand when you said you went to the courthouse to file, file what" And that he had vanished? I don't know if this is in USA but if it is here are some options: First a police report and if you have done so what is the progress? Some police officers are there for a paycheck nothing more. I'm not saying all but some are. If you have not filed a police report why not? And why did you wait so long? Do you have the subjects information? Name, telephone number? Business number? Business card? Business letterhead? Kennel name? With his name you have the police run a DMV/MVA check to produce a drivers' license, (if he has one) Now you have his personal info and address or LKA, last known address. You go to your commissioner's office or what ever it is called where you are located and you figure out charges. You get the most charges as possible (the LEO should be doing this/or knows this) you figure what can be state if applicable and what can be federal if applicable and you put together your "package". It will take time but now if the subject has vanished it is a cat and mouse game and we see how hard the officer searches for the subject. If the subject had a telephone/cell phone number with the right request the officer will retrieve pertinent personal information.

That should start the ball rolling in the search aspect. I would think as a kennel let alone an individual "selling" dogs that that negative, harmful possibly criminal information would be allowed to be posted. At this time IMO if no paperwork has been initiated by law enforcement then it would be a "he said - she said" hearsay topic and I would question why the delay and in turn question the validity of the complaint. But if things had been initiated on your behalf I would say more power to enlightening the public hence helping your efforts in finding this subject?

Good luck and if it's important enough DON'T GIVE UP.
