dreaming or dreams - Page 1

my pup has had 2 or 3 dreams since I've had him.  this morning he woke in a panic state like nightmarish with a yelp.  Any input on this is appreciated.

I can totally relate to what you are saying.....I have no answer as to what to do about it..I think I would gently try to wake him before it gets to the point where he wakes up on his on in that panic nightmarish state....Thats my opinion.....

I have a female that dreams constantly.... Its like she barks under her breath, as though she is alerting onto something...She will growl also...She does it so hard that her lips flap and her mouth opens when it appears she is barking....It is funny at the time....However, she does not wake up in a panic state...She does wake up with an expression of like, "Wow was I actually doing that?"    Kinda reminds me of myself when I wake myself up because I was snoring....Makes me feel silly and I wake up laughing at myself....

 I WONDER WHAT DOGS REALLY DREAM ABOUT. DON'T YOU WISH THEY COULD TELL US?

 My Huskies dream on occasion. Though it looks like they are "running" more than anything else when you watch them on the floor. If one gets too crazy while dreaming I just put my hand on their side, and one on thir face and massage their face until and after they wake up. Then they usually just go back to sleep without panicing first.

My 9 month old has dreams, some days she will bark (muffled barks) and her feet would look like she is running....

last time she was growling in her sleep i came up and said in low voice "get the ball Bailey, go get it" her tail started wagging and her feet were running, she was still very much asleep...it was hilarious...

I noticed she dreams more when she gets more treats, i have chicken jerky that i use to train with and if she goes through 2-3 pieces which are fairly big she has more "active" dreams, days that i train with her w/ toy or ball she spends just as much time running around but sleeps more soundly....although lately she started snoring...loud enough that she wakes herself up sometimes...

My moms flat-coated retriever  will wag her tail in her sleep more than anything it's cute cause it will be real quiet then you'll hear a "thump, thump, thump" then go quiet again.... 

Lukas just kinda...twitches and blows out little chirpy whines...

When one of mine seems to be having a bad dream, I just lay my hand on them and gently wake them up, and when they go back to sleep usually don't go back into the bad dream.

He usually wakes me up.  I'll try to wake him softly.  Thanks!

My 2 young girls still sleep on their backs, propped up against the sofa or whatever, or their crate if they're crated. When they dream, it's very silly looking. Their feet dangle & wave, their heads twitch & they make little wimpy barks, growls, & snuffles. Of course they will wake themselves, at times. Ansgar will stretch & yawn, & be totally cat-like, acting as though she totally meant to do whatever it was she was doing.

Lil' Bit, however, is truly a riot, she will sometimes startle awake so hard that she flips completely over, from her back to her feet, with a growling sort of "Herrrumph-BARK!" And then she looks around like, 'Well I just made an idiot of myself.' And she shakes, & curls up in a ball, like she's going back to sleep, but she keeps peeking out around the room, like 'Who saw that? Anyone?' Just like a kid....goofy dog. It's a good thing we love her....I don't know if she'd make it in the 'real' world! She's special.....LOL! jackie harris
