Too late, too tired tonight, I guess.

Anyway, I was just glancing through this board briefly..Haven't been here in over a week, and was absolutely stunned at the threads I saw.  My head is still spinning from that dip in the cesspool...

If I were Oli, I would consider just removing the messageboards from this site.  There are many people here, from all sides of all issues, who have sullied it.  All that a large group of members can do here these days is sit on their chairs, typing out colorful insults to everyone that is not their "friends", grouping up in packs to attack each other like wild animals, instead of acting like intelligent human beings.

This...absolutely ridiculous nonsense...seems to run in cycles.  For a while, people are polite to each other, then somebody starts something, and then it's a free-for-all. There are few decent dog threads (though there are a very few) on this first page of the board, and most of it is dealing with some sort of accusations by Oli apparently regarding SP.

I don't know what transpired, though it sounds like Oli is still trying to figure out what happened.  I saw the apology...Didn't see the other thread, as I have actually been living a real, non computer life.

I have been sitting here reading through some of this trying to get a sense of just what the heck is going on on this board, and all I can say is that I think that a bunch of folks here are as crazy as the ones they call crazy.  Tell me, is it something in the water, or the air?

We all know about the DDR thing.  I haven't forgotten about it.  I doubt she has, either.  But it's getting really old reading the same thing over and over and over.  Get it through your heads that Oli will not ban DDR, any more than he banned palerider, or MJD80, or any of the others that have been on this board before.  He has told us many times that it is better to deal with the problems we know are problems than to ban them and have them come back as someone else, and start again, but still a bunch here clamor for DDR to be banned. 

You scream "DO NOT FEED THE TROLL" then you turn around and do just that.  If you don't like her, fine.  I don't care for her, based on what she did, but I am no more interested in hearing about it over and over than I am in hearing about the local football team's victory over the other guys fifty times a day, for days on end.  Fine, you won. great for you.  I  just don't want to hear about it.  Someone asks about her, fine, tell them what happened years ago.  Don't any of you have lives that don't involve cyberspace for hours and hours a day? 

I wasn't going to comment on the nonsense, but this vicious cycle continues and continues, all of you poking at each other and the language escalating until all that's written is insults.  Jeez, this is an internet messageboard.  It doesn't directly affect most of you, most of the time.  So why make it so personal?  Why attack others?  Why sink to this level of pettiness?

I hope that SP is right, and that some major changes come to this board.  This is not a soap opera.  Are there any mature American adults here, besides a very few, who can just calmly state their opinions, answer questions when asked, and be decent people to others?  Or are we condemned to watch the soap opera of the "raymond, nonacona, maggiemae, RPK, etc" vs. "VM, SlamDunc, SP, DD, etc"?

If that is indeed what we are condemned to, then I leave you all to your keyboard war.  I've got dogs to feed, and a ton of other work.

You gave as good as you got, so don't play victim.  I am real, which is why I have been absent lately.  I haven't been on this board for the last week, and I come less and less, because there is so much of this drama drowning the board.  I stand by every word I stated above.  Yes, I know what's going on here.  There are two sides to this keyboard war you guys are in.  And from my perspective, the blame lies squarely on everyone, me included.  Takes two to fight, and if one is spoiling for a fight, and no one steps up, the fight goes away.

According to his own words, Oli believed someone's story, and you were tarred unfairly.  He apologized. It was wrong, he knew it, and he said so.

I didn't attack you.  I don't believe I ever have, though I do disagree with you on some points.  I didn't take issue with you or pounce on you over this latest, and even if I had been here during this, I don't have a dog in this fight, and I wouldn't have said anything one way or another.

The only reason for my post is that every time I come here, I find that the viciousness, which I had previously believed couldn't get worse, has gotten worse, and this latest, with Oli being humiliated by whomever, is icing on the cake.  He worked hard to make this database, and someone does this with it?  Shame on all involved.  I still say if I were Oli, I would get rid of this messageboard, change it to one where you have to pay to register, and you have to give your real contact information to Oli, even if it is not displayed publicly.

Now, I am going to make lunch for my oldest daughter's first day of first grade, and then feed dogs, then I'm hitting the sack.  Keep fighting, if that's what makes you happy, but I still believe our lives are much too precious to waste on a keyboard war.

I never said you accused anyone of hacking the site...I never said you went to Oli trying to get anyone banned.  Don't know what you are getting at.

What's so funny about me "showing up tonight"?  I spent the last week babysitting kids all day while teachers at my daughter's school finished prepping classrooms for the start of the school year, canned peaches and pears the rest of the afternoon, listened to a troubled boy pour out his frustrations with the world until the wee hours of the morning, and then did it all again the next day.   I've worked in the yard and garden when I wasn't doing all that, and done laundry.  So what's with the "Boy you sure pick your days"?

No, I didn't have any clue what was happening here until I read the thread Oli posted, "Retraction".  That was where I learned about what had been going on.  I read one on clicker training, and a few others.  So I've already pulled up a chair and done some reading, at least as much as I need to to see the immaturity being displayed.

As for the "talking out your behind"...I think that was a bit of a cheap shot. One does not need to read every post on every thread to get a definite sense of what's going on...It's readily evident.  I know enough to comment on what I see here...

Listen all my posts and pm's where deleted because someone cried to Oli that I hacked this site and then for 3 days nothing here but crap from guess who, your pals.  Cant you read what the others have written.

Lets drop the kid gloves you do not like me cause I am against certain trolls on this site.  I have been here for years and am well aware of who has done exactly what.

Again, I read what was on that thread...I get it that your posts and all were deleted because someone lied.  And as for three days of nothing but crap from "my pals"...There are certain people here whom I have a passing acquaintance with, such as yourself, maggiemae, and just about every other regular poster here.  Few of them are what I would consider friends.  My real friends don't post here much, if ever, because they feel as I do...

I read what was posted on the retraction thread, as I've stated several times, but only what was there.  I haven't been lurking here this week, reading what was being written about you and laughing...I have a life.

Kid gloves?  I don't own a pair.  Your personality and mine don't seem to match.  Fine by me.  No reason for me to attack you, which I have not done.  As for your stand against "trolls"...There are trolls on both sides of the "great divide".  I agree there is far too much off topic nonsense on this board, but I also feel there is entirely too much venom being spewed, even in the "on-topic" threads.  Is a little respect for each other too much of a stretch?  I don't think so.

We each have our personal, political, and religious views, and we have the right to have them.  We have the right to express them when the subject comes up, if we choose, even if it does not really belong on this site.  We each have our preference for dogs, working ability, size, color, all that fun stuff that is what should be being discussed here.  We have the right to state those preferences.

To my way of thinking, what makes a troll is one who feels the right to attack, demean, belittle, insult, and harass someone for stating their opinion or preferences.  You are entitled to your opinions, so am I.  To believe otherwise is what I find absurd.

You have been here since 2008 I on the other hand have been here since the beginning. Well almost but not.  I have been here a long time.

I just never posted until this place was ruined by a group of people who needed to destroy this place with there political crap and then when Oli deleted most of it.  We moved on to other games.   I know who those people are.  Do you?
