Anyone have any thoughts on these? I'm particularly curious to hear about progeny groups.

The progeny groups for me in the year of 2010:
1. - I liked Vegas group for the similarity in types and the superb movements and the will to go foreward, but I think in general that the males need more power. In general and in bones. Also to much angulation on some dogs, and temperament/nerve could be better on some dogs as well.
Some dogs have really high Quality, like Chakira , Egga, Arex and Sultan
2. - Zamps group is also very similar in type to the father, movement and expression. A group much like the 2 last years! High quality and some very high quality dogs like: Digger, Quattro, Kanto, Kwantum and Ober V.
3. - Tyson also showed a very nice group with a lot of high quality youngsters, and with 2 x sieger in the younger klasses with Dino, Lennox and Nika, he really shows his quality. Really outstandig individuals in type, color and movement. Some dogs are though on the larger side. I group I really liked a lot!
4. - Remo had a smaller group, but the progeny showed very good quality and energy in movement and very good coat quality. Some progeny should have better colors.
5. - Furbo had a group that was easy to like. Nice colors, strong bones/head and very good quality of the coat. Movement was good and he has some very high quality on the younger males like: Toni vd Rieser Perle (SG3), Futz de Zenevredo (SG4)
Other group I also found good individuals but maybe not so good over all impression was:
Ober, Kanto, Paer (high places younger females) , Yerom (several males with good bitework), Quenn, Ustinov and Floro
Groups I personally was disepointed with was:
Kwantum: Nice types and superb induviduals also in bitework, but for me the progeny in general has problems with movement.
Shicco: For me there was to big different in type/anatomy/movement, and in general the progeny had no "harmony" in anatomy. One high quality female, she was SG 4 or 5 (Dana Emkendorfer Park)
Arex: Also difference in type/color and several had problems with to much angulation and a "falling topline" (bicycle back)
Well.... I must be carefull also, and say that this is my personal opinion, from what I saw this day. And it's also impossible to see ALL TINGS on the short time you have to look at the groups, both outside and inside the stadium.
I also looked more on the groups that interested me, so there might be details and induviduals that I did not see or notice... And there is surely things that I have forgotten to write also.....
But this is at least some of my thoughs after looking at all groups on Saturday.
:)

Thank you so much for your insight of the beautiful dogs; wished I could have been there. Absolutely love Chakira and all those other handsome dogs. Bet that was a sight to see. Thx again, Nanci

Thanks so much the input! I really look forward to hearing more opinions as people arrive home from the wekeend.
Interesting in regards to Arex and topline, he himself is heavy in angulation for my taste.
Which groups did you see the most dogs of correct medium size?
Every year people talk about placings and there is, for me, not enough discussion of progeny. Many of my favorite VA dogs his year were lower in the VA group, I look forward to seeing progeny from them over the next few years.

Hello again
I did not get that much time outside the stadium, so size is not that easy to judge from the tribunes.
The dogs that I remember had general good size (not to many big ones) was:
Vanos van Noort, Kwantum Klostermoor, Remo Fichtenslag, Paer Hasenborn and Floro Degli Achei.
The groups with bigger dogs was: Odin vom Holtkamper Hof, Tyson Kõttersbusch, Yerom vom Haus Salihin, Ustinov vom Rõmerland
The other group are more in between....
Again, I must say that this is only my personal opinion and that it's diffucult to register all dogs in the group as they are passing by....

Kelly,
Which VA dogs do you have in mind?
In my opinion dogs starting with VA8 Gigolo v.d. Bärenschlucht and ending with VA12 Guccy v. Heinrichplatz should not get VA rating. BSZS supposed to be a breed show and they did not show any progeny because of a young age.
I don't want to take anything from those dogs, they are good dogs but still to young for VA rating.

Seby, yes, many of my favorites were in that group, in fact, I really like both Gigolo and Guccy and a few in between. I do agree with you about VA and progeny, however.
