Steve Schuler

Hey All!

This is the Second Topic that should rightfully bear my name as it's Author.

The First one didn't turn out quite like I thought it would and the one most recently showing my name as the Author was actually a fluke of bad timing.

Anyhow, I came upon a webpage at the Leerburg website that has several streaming videos available for viewing of Michael Ellis giving instruction on dog training.  The first ones listed comprise an introduction to his philosophy and approach to Marker Training filmed at a seminar he was conducting.  It consists of 7 segments filmed during his introductory lecture that run a total of 68 minutes.  I was able to download and save them to my computer on Realplayer by right-clicking the screen in which the video is shown.

I found the lecture informative and interesting and thought some of you might as well.

Access them here:

@Mudwick

Actually for someone who might be interested in specifically watching Michael's introductory lecture on his method of training, cutting and pasting the URL  above is the most direct and efficient way to accomplish that for someone who happens to be reading this thread.  Subscribing to Leerburg's Youtube channel might be a worthwhile thing to do in itself, but doing that alone will not provide direct access to this particular lecture without quite a bit of searching.

Please feel free to add any URL's or direct links to this thread that you think might help people out.

Thanks for your thoughtful input into this topic.

How about getting the big picture and purchase the DVD's you're missing more by accepting less.

@Behaviorist

I had previously seen some "snippets" of videos featuring Michael on the Leerburg website and thought he seemed like a very competent trainer as well as a very effective communicator.  I had not seen this particular "long" session with Michael until about a week ago.  After watching this introductory lecture I was sufficiently impressed with Michael and his systematic use of Marker Training and his ability to communicate concepts and techniques to his students that I thought I ought to pass this along to others that might be curious or interested.  I suppose that the reason that Leerburg/Ellis make these 'Free' videos available is to encourage folks to 'take the plunge' and buy the DVD's.  This particular streaming video 'starts at the beginning', which is usually the best place to start.(Laugh!)   Anyhow, I imagine that some people will be moved to go ahead after watching the streaming videos that are available online to make a purchase.  In any event, people will be able to see for themselves what Michael is like and the basics of his system of training prior to committing themselves to  participation in a seminar or making a DVD purchase.

SteveO....With the prices of training videos, these little "snippets" at least give you an idea of what you can expect ....As I

am finding out, investing in a series of training videos can cost a small fortune....thanks
