Totally gratuitous brags - Page 1

My daughter and I hit up our favorite specialty today and had a pretty good day!

My daughter and her dog got first place in rally excellent with a 97. Unfortunately, some dogs just love to do stupid things for the first time on trial day, and on her rather painfully slow drop on recall she opted to sit too far away. Q'ed every other other exercise and would have had a score in the 190s, too. I told her everyone NQs sooner or later and at least now she got it over with! ;)

My old girl, on her ninth birthday, in icky hot weather, got second in veterans with a 193.

My surprise of the day came from my seven month old puppy who gave me a very nice 98 point rally novice run, earning first place! This is the youngest I have ever put a dog in the AKC ring.

I also had two of my students qualify over three different classes, all with placings and solid scores.


German Shepherd Dog Training Club of Chicago always puts on a great trial and if you've ever considered entering your dog I highly suggest you go for it!

BTW, we saw Denise (jettasmom) and man, oh man, does she know how to teach her dogs focus to die for! Really beautiful!

Kudos to you and your daughter!  Definately something to proud of.  A few friends of mine and I enterred our dogs in a match show today.  I have not been  in an akc ring for over a year.  Forgot how small those darn rings are.  Molly was all full of energy and knocked one Rally Excellent sign over and decided in Open to forget that on a recall and on retrieves she is suppose to sit in front of me, lol.  At least both judges said - well she certainly is a happy dog!  The good news is she remembered the broad jump and drop which we have not practiced in forever.  Just have to figure out how to heel in that small space.  She seems to loose her brain everytime when we are behind those gates.

Again, congratulations and very nice scores!  I know how difficult it can be!
