What is your favorite and most effecient photo editing software?

My most efficient is Irfanview, fast, free, and able to use 3rd party photoshop plugins which greatly extends its usefulness.
For anything really complex that requires tools that Irfanview is incapable of or unable to do efficiently, I like the commercial software Corel Photo Paint (instead of Photoshop).
It can be tough to wade through all the tons of nicely featured software to finally decide what you like, and it can take years to learn all the features and limitations once you find one.
Corel and Adobe were the early pioneers, and I began with Corel. During that time, I've learned of no limitations on Corel's part that Photoshop has any advantage over, and Corel has many features I'm not sure Photoshop is even capable of.
