If you own more than one dog, as your dog ever alerted you to the potential danger of one of your other dogs???

My first GSD was a backyard bred female, named Belle. She was the perfect dog in every way... At the time, I had a very resource aggressive male (pound rescue). He helped raise Belle from the time she was 8 weeks old, and the two got along like litter mates...When Belle turned about 1 year old, the male growled at me over his food. This was common for him as he was very aggressive at dinner time. She went toward him and jumped on him in a very aggressive way. Things were never the same again between them. We ended up putting him down at the advice of our veterinarian. He had some very serious aggression issues and I was afraid of him harming our infant daughter. Belle lived 14 healthy, happy years.....never did a bad thing...ever..

I haven't had that...but my two older girls were always at odds with each other, I peeled them off one another several times and they slept at complete opposite sides of the living room. I did not trust them alone in the house together. Then, when my eldest was pregnant, the other one accompanied her constantly, they even shared a dog bed. It was like night and day.

When the pups were born, the other girl sat on the couch behind the whelping box with her chin resting on the edge and just watched my momma dog with her pups. After the litter left, she stopped hovering over my older one, but they never fought the way they used to after that. They still don't play together, my oldest will still bully, but they sleep inches from each other every day.

My Boyfriend's Akita/Husky/Keeshound mix named "Bear" who past away last March was epileptic.  Within the 1st 6 month of my dogs knowing him, he had a seizure.  One of my Corgis began acting weird just proir to his seizure.  Another one of my Corgis threw up about 50% of the time just prior to his seizures.
So, I began learning to read their behavior change which allowed me to prepare for Bear's seizures.
