Playing Around with Silly Tricks - Page 1

Another dog forum started a contest after so many trainers were complaining that they weren't doing much training in the heat.
Here was our submission:

             Mudwick...I am so jealous....you must have the happiest dog in the world. She never stopped wagging her tail and she is eager to please ....Is this kind of attitude something you train for, or is it something their born with..????...Thanks for the video....it was very cute...

I love happy dogs.  You can tell she's happy to do what's asked and eager to please.  There is a dog on YouTube...Kaine, that is awesome to watch too and you can tell he has an amazing bond with his "mama"

She's a happy worker.
She's the first dog I've worked beyond basic obedience and cute parlor tricks, and she's taught me a lot about how to train and how to achieve a good relationship with my dog.

As corny as it probably sounds, she's taught me how to respect my dog.

SP, she's not for sale, but her breeder has done many repeat breedings of her litter. 

She was a frustrating puppy.

I didn't realize getting into it that her lines are very slow to mature.
I couldn't ask for much more in a dog, though. Marker training has definitely made our working relationship much more successful and enjoyable.  A lot of that eager happy attitude comes from a dog who understands that she will always be rewarded for success, and never punished for confusion or misunderstanding.  She is corrected [and frankly, she takes VERY hard corrections when she does need them, the knucklehead] for willful disobedience, but she understands how to remove the pressure before its ever put on.

Hopefully one of these days I can actually get someone to tape us doing some serious training, rather than taping myself doing silly tricks with her.

She is one happy dog,  I do not think they are silly tricks, they are thinking when they are able to do them, which is a good thing.
I enjoy dogs having fun with their owners.
