Do you have any suggestions on a good dog food(kibble) that does NOT have any chicken or fish in it??

PS: Yes you have a right to be concerned when it comes to commerical kibble; especially P&C products. Of course, they will ruin Calif. Natural and all other Natura products. They are in it for one thing and only one thing, and it ain't the health of your dog.

It show's Natura, now owned by P&G is just one of many other customers.
The OP might want to check out Blue Buffalo brand kibble. Our dog does very well on it. If you use their comparison chart, they'll send you a $5.00 off coupon, too. www.bluebuff.com/sample/true-blue-results.php

They have:
Sweet potato and venison
Potato and duck
Other than that, I'd suggest homecooked or raw because I can't find anything that doesn't have either chicken or fish in it somewhere. Is he allergic to all fish?

as far as raw goes...... in order to have any control at all, you must know your source. example - home raised and butchered meats. if you buy raw at the supermarket you have no idea what you are buying. it may very well be laden with hormones, medications, bacteria, etc. raw is good IF you know your source, but only then.

I have noticed that too about the foods that have been recalled. They all seem to have either chicken or fish in them. Aiko can not eat anything with fish meal or fish oil in it. He can have chicken, but with all the issues lately with chicken I am not going to take a chance.

I tried Aiko on the Natural Balance before I put him on the California Natural. He did get a very dry coat, now I know why. I did not add anything to his diet. He just got the kibble and a teaspoon or so of canned food mixed with warm water with each meal. I guess I should have added some oil and fats to this food.

I looked at Blue Buffalo and I could not find any one of them that didnt have fish or chicken in it.
Thank you everyone for you suggestions and comments. I know several of you mentioned raw. At this time I do not want to do a raw diet. I am going to stick with kibble, as this is what I have fed for years and have had good luck with it. I have nothing again a raw diet, I did feed that years ago. But for now I am going to feed kibble.
