Yep, I'm sooo proud, he never was taught to bite that way either...He automatically corrects his grip on the rare occasion he doesn't have it all the way in the bacl of his mouth :-)
LOVE this dog!

Nice bite.
Looks like he takes the pressure from the helper quite well, also.

He looks great with the pressure.

He knows you are alpha.

Its a fair amount of pressure for a beginning dog.
The stick is presented to the dog in every picture, and in the one, he is OVER the dog, tons of eye contact, stroking with the stick.

It took a long time to get my own bitch to make eye contact with me.  She's not soft, but she is *handler* soft.  Made beginning heeling... interesting.

Some dogs are like that with their handlers.  Doesn't automatically mean that submissiveness will translate to the helper.  Only one way to find out, and it looks like you did.

What's the helper's name, if you're comfortable saying?

My dog is sensitve to me for sure. My husband who is a big guy handled him for about a month and he was not soft towards him (and come to think of it, my dog doesn't act that soft during training, more at home...hmmm)

My helper does have a very strong presence and  I am really surprised by how my dog just wants the sleeve and doesn't care about the eye contact, being over him, or a stick hit... My dog just closes his eyes tighter and hangs on for dear life
