There are a LOT of grasshoppers this year. I was taking a few photos this morning and darn grasshoppers kept getting in them. No grasshoppers spotted with the butterflies, but they were in all the rest.

Adreya, those are very beautiful pictures.. You are really enjoying your camera aren't you. I also love to take pics.. I always have my camera with me. Never know what I will find....Love the hibiscus flowers. We have a bush like that also.
The flower itself is about 8 to 9 inches round... absolutely gorgeuos...

Fantastic Pic's, You must have a very good Camera plus more importantly you know how to use it. Over here we have a grave shortage of Bees, there are not nearly as many around as years ago It is becoming a bit of a problem in something you take for granted.
Also we do not see the butterflies we used to mostly the ordinary white species over here but nice to see anyway

Steve, sadly I don't have a really good camera yet, but it is good enough that I just received a job offer as a photographer for a magazine. :)
As for the bees and butterflies, I've seen a big increase in both the last couple of years. When I bought this property, there were almost no bees, but I've never used any pesticides and have seen the insect population really grow. I planted parsley to attract the Black Swallowtail butterflies and have seen quite a few this year.
