Anyone else have this problem?

by RLHAR on 22 July 2010 - 20:07
My little girl is extremely vocal. Rub her ears and she groans and grumbles with pleasure, when she finally settles down for a good while she lands with a deep groan. Very unlady like but adorable!

My male does too....usually when he starts to settle in to take a nap.

Pharaoh was given the name Chewbacca while we stayed at the hotel. He likes to vocalize as if he were trying to talk.
Pharaoh also talks in his sleep like a puppy. Sometimes it's a happy dream and sometimes he is hunting or arguing. He will be three in September. I thought it was only young dogs and old dogs had such vivid dreams.

Abbie was a "chatty Cathie," she made all sorts of noises to express herself. You will learn the good from the bad. I always considered it a gift lol. I knew which noise meant,"let me out," or "I need water," or "I am scared of thunder" etc.
Congrats on your communicative dog:)

My old girl is a groaner, too!

Georgia is quite a talker, and our old male was as well. Remy would make this horrendous yowling sound if he was outside and he got lonely (he was an only dog for a period of time) - it sounded like we were torturing him. I still miss him.

Carly moans and groans and has an opinion about everything. It's pretty comical.

I can't say it's a problem.
Judging from the responses it sounds like the norm.
Maddy does this moaning as if making a comment about one thing or another.
Indy only does it when he gets his favorite spot and it sounds like, finally!
It's never a painful moan, more like talking to themselves.
LOL....
Maybe they heard me do it.
But it sounds like something the dogs have in common here.
