my brother said to me feeding my female german shepherd 2 years old is salmon from the can good for the dog to eat?!!!!!!yes it is because i feed my dog boodie salmon at least twice a week and she just loves it and also i notice that her coat of fur is healthy and very shinney .also i give her a fish oil tablet ones a week also.she is very healthy and strong.

Some canned fish is loaded with sodium or packed in oil, so that's a bit of a concern.
Aside from that, there's no real harm to feeding canned fish of any variety to a dog as long as its low and sodium and packed in water.

I have has to use it when I could not get fresh fish, you can rinse it off if it seems oily or salty. Does help some but will not remove all residue, definitely some. Wal Mart has Alaskan canned salmon really cheap and wild caught. Love that. Good Luck, I think I will add some to my dogs diets also. Nan

PS: has anyone tried Swai fish for their dogs? Have bought some to try at a reasonable price also at Walmart; hopefully will be OK for dogs. Nan

I feed my dogs canned salmon mixed in with their regular food no less than once a week.
I do not like pills or supplements and never use them.
I hate freaking Walmart and hope they move all business to China.
I strongly suggest avoiding farm raised fish of any kind from China.
And try to shop anywhere else besides Walmart so that you don't wake up one day to no other choice.
If you don't want salmon do disappear I also suggest preserving their habitat, oceans, rivers, streams, and stopping over fishing.
A cheap price is not always a bargain.
