In this ad this pup doesn't look healthy. It looks too skinny and inda sickly to me. Most pups are more round and have that puppy fat on them.I also can't believe it is so much for just a pet with limited reg,

Mybe it has just been too long since I have seen a pup.

In my opinion, Honestly I don't see that puppy as being skinny... However, that is not the best picture for me to say one way or the other...The postioning of the puppy, the lighting, and being solid black, can be very deiceiving to the eye. In my opinion, going only by what the seller has stated, being all DDR bloodlines, I believe that maybe why they are asking that price. Seems some have a tendency to use certain bloodline to set a price. Yes I agree, that amount for a pet is kinda waaaaaaay over the top. But I guess, it up to the individual as to if its outrageous or not...
JUST MY OPINION>>>Its not right nor is it wrong....

Lauren...I would have to agree about the puppy not looking "skinny".
I think the age of the puppy has alot to do with the look of it's weight......ya know...they kinda look "gangly" at that 11 to 15 weeks time.?!
As for the price......I would also believe that it's a pretty normal price range.
Many puppies sold on limited registration or for "companion homes only" with good breeding's/pedigrees, can easily be in the price range of $1000 to $1500.....AND as you are aware of.....with some breeders.....OMG...a whole lot more $$!...
jmo,
Robin

Pup looks normal to me for that age, not super skinny. You are thinking of younger puppies that have the chubby look.
Price is normal, maybe seems a tad high for the fact that neither parent is titled, save for a rally novice title, if you count that. They put CGC after the dogs name which is incorrect as it's an award, not a title. But not everyone can title their dogs or wants to, doesn't mean they're not great quality dogs. DDR lines could mean any amount of DDR lines is in the pedigree, from barely anything to a lot. Limited reg or s/n contract is fine because majority of dog owners are not breeders.

Puppy looks ok to me. Maybe it has been too long for you.

Wow it has been TOO long since I have had a GSD pup. I remember Dar going through that stage but I can't remember how old he was when he did. I know he had 2 phases of uglyness.lol Been out of the loop for some time but yea Robin you are most right about the prices.(and some being way too high.lol) Man i miss having a puppy and being in the dog world again. I will be getting back in it when training the SAR dog here but it isn't going to be a GSD.

Yes Kelly that is my beloved Etu. Man I miss that dog.He was the best dog I have had and I don't think I will ever be so lucky to come across another like him. I thank Paula for allowing me to have such a wonderful dog. His sire is gone and I don't know of any others that have bloodlines that are close to his He will always be in my heart.

Pup looks fine, he has a tight coat, big ears ( should grow into them) kinda looks like a black mal. My sable looked liked this and even today at 14mo people ask if he is a mal.

Blackthorne- Etu's pedigree www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/516606.html
Yea the pup does have those big radar ears.lol I haven't really seen that many pups with such a tight coat.Use to seeing fuzzballs. They should take a better pic if they are wanting to sell it.That pic doesn't do it justice. Sometimes i wonder about the pics posted in the classifieds.

Etu was a hell of a dog. Stable, safe, completely clear headed but very civil and always at the ready to protect, he was the real deal- and gorgeous to boot.
