So, now that Danny Spreitler has resigned as President of the WDA, what's next???
(notice GSDCA was purposely omitted before WDA)

I just got that too.  I don't really understand the relationship between the GSDCA and the WDA or how they are "connected" yet fight nonstop.  Can someone fill me in?  I'm a member of the WDA and a WDA club so I'm not looking to bash, I just need some background..

Why does the WDA HAVE to be a part of the GSDCA?  I am also a member of the WDA, but NOT the GSDCA. The GSDCA DOES NOT like the GERMAN,  GERMAN SHEPHERD, Working or Showlines. They have ruined the American Shepherd that they have created, and only NEED the WDA for MONEY!!!
It sounds like Danny Spreitler is tired of the BS and  the EGOS that are involved in the GSDCA. THEY DO NOT CARE about the BREED, only what THE GERMAN dog brings moneywise to the GSDCA.
What a mess! AND...I am sure that USA is now doing the HAPPY DANCE!!

I think all WDA members got this e-mail from Danny Spreitler. The new President has some very big shoes to fill.

Danny Spreitler leaves a strong legacy within the WDA Board.  He taught us very well.  He will be sorely missed.  But I get the feeling that he may be an even more powerful advocate for our breed now that Presidential decorum is no longer necessary!

The WDA is a democratic institution with laws and procedures in place for times of transition.
 The Vice-President automatically becomes President.

Legacy? !!! \\

He resigned wich is a fancy word for QUIT

he didnt die

come on
no need for tissues SOB SOB

He reminds me of Nancy Drew cause he likes to write a lot
he has a BLOG!

and maybe John Meyer cause he wears his heart on his sleeve but its a dress shirt sleeve and not a helper sleeve

I received his email and was turned off by the hating and the airing of dirty laundry

I WON'T be voting for him at the next election believe you and me!!!  and yes i did vote for him last time so i can say it

Why would a guy who resigned RUN AGAIN? I don't get it.

I also don't get the lame remark about the dress shirt sleeve, not the helper sleeve. Jeeze, not too many of us do helper work to begin with. Was he only supposed to be representing HELPERS?

And last but not least, The letter sure looked like a bare minimum of airing dirty laundry and more accepting responsibility for going along with the BS in the past.

People often asked me to consider being an RD for Region 8--because there is none. I replied: "Not if this means that I have to cough up money and join the GSDCA (was a member for 29 consecutive years at one time). The GSDCA will never adopt an international breed standard--period.People often asked me to consider being an RD for Region 8--because there is none. Who is vice president?  What are folks thoughts on who ever is vice pres?

by echolane on 01 July 2010 - 01:07

Could be the Vice President of WDA is Spreitler's girl friend and his employee in one of his businesses.  Can anyone confirm this?
