Wondering if there's anyone here who's in WV and maybe could help out a fellow dog owner whose health is not good...This gal lost her husband a few months ago to a long-term terminal illness (she cared for him at home during most of it), and their GSD Brenna passed away shortly thereafter, leaving just Sandy and their Border Collie, "AR".
On the morning of Tues., 6/22, Sandy let AR out the door into the fenced yard so he could pee; just as he went out, there was a flash of lightning and a loud clap of thunder, and AR bolted over the fence--he's afraid of thunder and lightning. She hasn't seen him since, and despite flyers being circulated and Sandy trying to canvas the area, there's been no word of him so far. Sandy can't walk far--she has some respiratory issues--so I'm hoping to find some WV contacts who could help her find this dog. The dog is microchipped with a Home Again chip, and they were notified immediately, but I think this is a 'boots on the ground' situation. This lady's had an awful run of things over the past few years, and this loss just might break her.
If anyone out there might be able to help out, PM me and I'll get you Sandy's contact info.
Edited to add: Just got word that AR's been found, in rough shape and a bit shocky but basically OK. Will spend night @ e-vet's on fluids & under observation and be released in the morning to go back home.
