Is it for a female 14 months old to have 2 heat cycles not even 3 months apart. Her first cycle was in April?

if she has split heats, then yes it is common.  I have seen bitches cycle every 4 months too.

Nearly all my females cycle every four months. But the repro vet told me that is pretty much the minimum time needed to be fertile.  If your female does cycle every three months, you might need to spay her because she will likely wear out her uterus early and get pyometra, and never get pregnant. But, since she is young, it could just be that the first one was a "false heat."

Per three repro vets I have dealt with, this is not uncommon at all with gsds. Apparently, they are notorious for it. It is NOT good for their uteri, as it means that a 3 yo gsd bitch has the uterus of a 5-6 yo bitch of any other breed. This is one of the main reasons that my bitch is on Cheque Drops to prevent the heat cycle. They can only be on it for 2 years. She will be on it less, as just as soon as I get a B and Sch 1 on her (or whatever we can get to by fall), I plan to have her spayed. We will then continue to train/trial/title, after she has the winter to recoup from surgery. ¶ Be forewarned, if you want to consider Cheque Drops, the stuff is only available from one pharmacy, as I understand it. It costs nearly $100 a month. Yep, and the IRS says these aint my dependents?? :-)
