He was perfect with me, however not at all good to my other dogs nor my family members & most importantly the kennel's cleaner. A couple of days ago & whilst the cleaner was washing his water bucket, the dog attacked him very aggressively & despite the cleaner used a wooden board between his body & the dog, still Good Boy managed to bite the cleaner's elbow & scratched his stomach (vide the photos above).
I heard the big raw & I intervened to rescue the cleaner from further wounds & damages and whilst doing that the dog also tried to bite me.
This evening my clearing agent will send the dog back to his owner.
A very prompt sad END

Tarik,
I remembered the thread and was glad to hear the meeting with your old buddy went OK, but why the accidental bite when you already know that Goodboy was aggressive to strangers (ie the kennel cleaner) happened. Could this been prevented?

Poseidon- He did not show any aggression towards the kennel's cleaner, only he was not friendly to him, I mean doesn't welcome him when see. This guy has a good experience in dealing with dogs, he cleans my kennel together with at least other 23 further breeders kennels. There was no any alarm from the dog indicating that he would attack, he just came closer & bite the guy without barking & / or roaring. I did discussed the matter with his owner who said this happened since the dog misses him!!!
Anyway I think I was right in taking the decision of sending him, back to his owner.

Tarek, I don't understand how you're sending him back when his owner is not there? Who will be looking after him now?
by tarekallam on 28 June 2010 - 13:06
GSDtravels- There are special dogs hotels that can take care of him till the return of the owner ,their representative will collect him from the airport. That is what I agreed with the owner to do. I cannot take any further risks in keeping him. Next time he may do it with me or my children.

Not judging, just curious. I don't blame you, I wouldn't risk it either.

Goodboy did not live up to his name :( it's a shame.
Must have been a scary moment trying to break up the sudden attack. It must take alot of nerve and courage from those who handle other people's dogs who may have aggression issues.
I helped a couple of breeders once to look after their GSDs where there is always one that is difficult. The mere word "foey" will send them off. Partly due to bad training in the past. I would attend the other dogs and leave the difficult one for the owners. I don't have the balls!
Hope Goodboy will reunite with his owner soon.

Well I guess he isnt so good anymore. Sorry that happened to you. What a disappointment. I also remember the thread and was excited for you. I do not understand how someone can keep a dog that bites other people like this. Maybe its because Im afraid to be sued.
I would have done the same thing.

Is it possible that Good boy is not getting to run enough ?? Being locked in a kennel with a hundred barking dogs around is enough to make anyone loopy. Its so important to get out of a building and into an open feild for quiet thinking. Pint up energy and tension is likley why the dog suddenly changed his mind about the water boy.

Kimmelot- I have 4 males & 2 females they are out for exercising everyday for at least 2 to 3 hours per day. If I am busy so my assistant do it for me. Sorry in my opinion your explanation for what has happened is ........unacceptable .
