Interested in Helping Retired Military Dogs? - Page 1

This group is an excellent organization, very dedicated to helping former military dogs; our canine veterans. I wish I could explain better, but I'm not always the most efficient with words. One of my collateral duties in the Navy is providing support with the MWDs. The dogs are heros, but they didn't ask for this job. Still, they serve all over the world helping our brothers and sisters at arms.

This group is, in my opinion, one of the best for helping the dogs. I don't generally promote groups or organizations here, but this is one of the few where I know the folks who created it personally, and I 100% support them and their mission.

Wish I would've known about this organization when I was looking for a dog two years ago (not that I regret adopting the one I have). I wanted to get a retired military dog or retired police dog and inquired at a few places, but none of them ever got back to me. Those dogs deserve wonderful forever homes for all they have done to serve us and our country. Thank you for sharing and for supporting this organization.

There are different organizations.  I think Save-a-Vet is one that tries to provide a place for the dogs that are NOT adoptable to live out their retirement.  There are also organizations that adopt out homeless retired military dogs.
