Is it possible to use human pregnancy test tapes in confirming bitchs pregnancy?

I mean by dipping the tape in the bitch's urine.

Never occurred to me...I don't know the answer to that one. You might want to ask your vet or even calling the company who makes them and see if they would know. I'd like to hear the outcome on this.

I have asked several vets & I am receiving different answers, that is why I am seeking the help of the professionals on this board.
Anyway a friend of mine will try it tomorrow first thing in the morning & will see. However it may give wrong results, I mean may be she is pregnant & the tape will give negative results or vice versa.
So please urgently help in this.

A good vet just replied to me & said that this way works with horses, however he never tried it with bitches.
So please to those with vast experience please help.

Humane pregnancy tests measure the Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin levels. As dogs don't have human hormones it would be highly unlikely that this would work. The most reliable test is an ultrasound.

I wondered that, and have tried it out of curiosity more than anything else. The results haven't been reliable by any stretch. I tried on females who had never been bred, and females who were ready to whelp any day. The issue could've been contamination of urine because it's quite hard to get a urine sample from a dog in my experience 
... but I don't know. I don't think human pregnancy tests are accurate on canines.

I wouldn't think it would but who is going to try it and report back with the results? LOL
