This is the 3rd time I am posting this message. The nose bleeding stopped after the doctor prescribed certain medicines to stop the bleeding and prevent it from happening. My vet is of the strong opinion that it is not tick fever but a tumor. However, he agreed to give him a preventive tick fever injection today along with a 2 vitamin K injections, a vitamin C & 3 revice e injections (I doubt that the spelling is right). However, the bleeding has not stopped yet. I have been on the phone throughout the day with my vet and he has suggested to wait for some time for the treatment to take its affect. However, looking at the the amount of blood loss my dog has had since the morning, I doubt that he would survive through the night. I asked my vet if my dog shud b put down cuz I cant see him going through all this to which he said that it wont be right. I should let him go like this if its his time. If he survives the night, my vet is adament on giving him an injection for the treatment of tumor this sunday.
Would do you all suggest?

I would immediately get a second opinion. I had a dog with nasal cancer. The dog lived for about 3 months after the bleeding started. I had to go to three vets to get the correct diagnosis. Two of the three vets were way off and idiots. The third vet diagnosed the dog immendiately. I actually drove 400 miles to get the 3 rd opinion, back to NY to see a vet I knew was good. My house looked like a crime scene for months because the dog bled so heavily. He would shake his head and blood would go everywhere. I had my entire house repainted after I had to put the dog down. There was no treatment that would work and certainly no injections that would help my dog.
Sad to say, but vets make money on the treatments and some seem to forget about what is really best for the dog. I would get a second opinion right away and not wait till Sunday. If it is a tumor, sadly there may be little that can be done. Make your dog comfortable and spend some nice time with the dog comforting him.

IMHO it would be kindest to put him down, rather than on cancer treatments.
Ugh. I'm so sorry.

They bleed a lot if they do that and it's hard to stop the bleeding because they keep shaking head and it opens the wound again. Just a thought.

do you give heartworm medication? it can cause nose bleeds in a few dogs.

I'm sorry that your dog is going through this and that you are too. So sad.
Your vet would rather him suffer until he dies on his own? How thoughtless!

went for a 2nd opinion. another one of the best vets n he suggested that its tick fever only n max's patelet count is going down n becoming anaemic cuz of the blood loss. he gave him a shot of tetra amoxicylin, an antibiotic n a sedative. he said that the blood is not clotting n there is some functionaility disorder in his blood cuz of which the bleeding is not stopping. he wants to give him another try n save him. max hasnt had anything since the morning n blood is still coming out. i have left it on god n the vets at this time. waiting n hoping that he gets better.
