I have heard mals can be more sensitive and softer, not requiring a tough handler.
ducthies, depending on breeding, can either be as extreme as a mal but with more stability of a shepherd, or just like having a gsd.

I own a mali/dutchie cross and GSD's but i have taken a slightly different approach with every single one.
Every one of these breeds have wired dog, soft dogs, hard dogs, handler aggressive dogs, one handler dogs, thinkers, controlled stable high drive dogs...... so it all depends on you procuring what you want and what fits your handling capability/ reading the dog and knowing what the dogs needs to succeed.

Where did you hear this nonsense? Speak to some people who actually work and understand these dogs; better yet go out and watch them work for yourself. You are way off on the temperament of each breed.

I guess I got the sensitive comment from someone breeding mals for AKC showring, but we all know what they've done to the gsd in the AKC showring.
I've been around both mals and dutchies during training, well I think the dutchie was a mal/dutchie cross, but still a super high drive drive.
thanks for everyone's comments. I assumed it came down to the individual dog or line they were out of, but wanted to clarify with people who spend alot of time with them.
