Can you please send me an example of a perfect GSD (show category dog) , in respect of anatomy, head, back etc....

I am really confused since the breeders in my part of the world always argue amongst themselves by giving different answers when such subject is opened, they even contradict their personal opinion if they are asked the same question on 2 different occasions.

So please even if you do not want to send photos, it is enough that you send me names of dogs from your point of view.

Please it would be kind of you to concentrate on the back point, by sending a picture &  descriptions i.e. which part of the back should be straight, which should be sloped etc....

Thanks very much for your help.

I can't think of any dog I think is perfect.  I have a folder on the computer where I save photos of dogs that have "perfect" body parts as far as what I am looking for, but no one dog is flawless in every respect that I am looking for.

Here is a good description of the standard, which may be helpful to you.

Look up Lana von der Zenteiche. She is in here, and IMO about as close to perfection in conformation as one can get. :-) Theresa

It's not hard to find the standard, if only some judges would uphold them.

I would suggest contacting a few koermeisters and conformation judges, rather than a forum where pet owners and other uninformed indivduals simply parrot what they have "heard," at best. Rudigar Mai has always been very open and "accessible." So is Lothar Quoll. Both are well-respected judges and koermeisters. They speak excellent English and their contact info is on the SV site. Fred Lanting, an American judge, is also an individual who is well-versed in the subject. Further, Fred likes to teach and explain. He is a member of this forum under the sobriquet "Mrgsd." That is also his email address.

Now that was funny-there is a standard for reference of course, but there IS room for opinion and personal preference. It is still subjective or the EXACT same type would always win. Theresa
