I am wondering, what have you found to be the best flooring material for your kennels.
I have outdoor kennels, currently dirt floor and very muddy as we have had tremendous rain.
Would like to know if you have preferences and why? Gravel, Concrete, Rubber matting? Anything?

The best set up I have every seen was where the kennels were set up 1' off the ground on a deck that was 25' long X 12' wide. Very nice and dogs were nice and dry.

I like the idea of the deck floor, but how does that affect wash down and drainage area? Do you walk the dogs to eliminate, what about health regulations on waste water?

Bhall: I think these pics are of some very nicely constructed kennels, would you be willing to share the details?

I also use the horse mats from tractor supply...easy to clean and they dry fairly quickly. Putting them down is nice if you don't want a permanent kennel as well--easy to relocate if needed to.

I think Bhall's set up looks really nice, except I wonder about underneath - there is obviously going to be drainage from inside the kennel, from hosing out, but also from urine and maybe feces draining through - so eventually it seems there would be build-up of hair, mud, urine, feces, spilled dog food  - underneath the structure.  How to clean it out then?  It will eventually become "gross" under there, and smelly.  Nice housing for rodents, bugs and other creatures.    I think I would have done something different about where that structure was set - on concrete?  Or maybe a deep bed of gravel - or some sort of drainage system.  Just thinking "aloud" here.   Plus I personally prefer my kennel dogs to be able to see out and around - closed walls on 3 sides makes the enclosure pretty boring for a dog that is kenneled 24/7.
And seems as if that would get pretty hot in the summer, enclosed like that.
