Yes, at least against other dogs. Anyway, my female made me proud tonight, even if the dog was little ......
I went for a walk with the neighbour (who has a King shepherd) to this other ladies house with a 3 legged black shepherd (spinny as all get out) and a feisty pug/terrier cross. The 3 legged shepherd is dog aggressive and charged the King shepherd as soon as we got there, and the pugX came right after me! Anyway, I was sure she was going to bite me, but Candi, who was on my other side, was obviously watching her and not all the other commotion, and quickly intervened and had a short skirmish with her and saved me from an ankle bite. Not exactly a life or death situation, but I appreciated it all the same.
When we( my neighbour and I) go for walks we have little games of hide and find and both my dogs go crazy as soon as I go to hide. He, who thinks he is all dogs dream man, was impressed that both of my shepherds refused to come when he called, or jump in his truck without me.
His dog would literally jump in any ones vehicle and go home with them. In fact she tries to come home with me every time.
Nothing like a well bred Shepherd. I love my dogs.

Yes nothing like a GSD who has the right protective instinct for its owner, if she is ready to protect you she will whatever the threat source is provided she could perceive the threat right. Very sweet of her.
I think that is natural in her (genetics) not training, much debate on that was going on lately, thanks to Lavk9, lol.

I think it is genetic too. She was very level headed, while this other shepherd was constantly going in circles and barking, and charging us the whole time we were there. At one point, when he got to close she confronted him too. Of course I stopped it, but was surprised at her because she isn't the least bit dog aggressive.
I know this story sounds a little silly, and the dog was small, but she definitely intervened on my behalf. As long as they stayed away from me, she just sat by my side and watched them, kinda like a bad movie.
Anyway, I'm not saying she'd protect me from a human, because that is a different scenario.
It was an interesting night, and I was really happy with how calm and well behaved she was.
BTW Ibrahim, they also had a pot bellied pig, that followed us on our walk. He knew how to sit, and was house trained and smarter than her shepherd she said.
Cute, I may have to get one.
P.S. I've got pictures today of my Quazar stacked, and I want you to critique them. Not sure how they turned out yet, but I'll get them on here, and you can let me have it, straight up!
