Do you track your dogs  in the snow?  How do you lay tracks?

Hi Sue...Here in NJ when it snows we track.....We lay the tracks just as if it didn't snow:-).....great for training puppies as you can see the foot steps. We had a trial once where after the tracks were laid...it snowed...dogs had no problem!

Interesting!  What about longer tracks for adult dogs?  Do you think the snow acts in a similar fashion to dirt and grass with regards to  scent?  Do you age the tracks the same amount of time?  Do you have to take any special care of their feet with long tracks?  Also what about in general, is there any special care you have to take of dogs feet in areas where it snows?  I remember reading something about dogs feet and roads salted because of ice?
