Could anyone give me some advise with a breeder in Florida ? I am Just wondering if anyone has purchased a puppy from this breeder and if not has anyone heard anything about the kennel. Such as are they a Good bloodlines are the puppies healthy? i hope i am allowed to post up the name of the kennel. the name of the kennel is vomhaussaffore.com . i have spoke to the breeder and went to the kennel they would only allow me to see the sire to purchase the puppy i was not allowed to see the pups,I was told to go online and pick the puppy, then when i purchase the puppy at 8 weeks of age then I can see the puppy. I never had to ever do this at any other kennel,so any advise would be great. thank you in advance

I know nothing about this kennel, but I can't imagine a breeder not allowing a prospective buyer to see the pups in person. I would want to see the pups so I could observe their behaviors, temperament etc. I personally wouldn't consider buying a pup from this breeder. What are they trying to hide? Maybe others will see this differently, but that is my opinion for what it is worth.

Run;  as fast as  you can.  Find another breeder,

I can understand not seeing the pups at such a young age due to risk of parvo ect. being brought in.  were you not allowed to see the mother?

I do find it suspicious though,  and personally would ask to see the pups,  it is your money that you are spending BTW.

After looking at their site, and knowing where some of their females came from, I'd say be very careful.  not sure if they work with the breeder I know about, or just bought dogs off of her,  but I wouldn't do business with them.

contact Justk9's, a PDB member,  she has beautiful DDR dogs and you can see their pups: here's a thread about one of their pups now

Yes. Some breeders will ask you come straight from home with out visiting any other kennels or petsmart (before 1 week of visiting). For puppies health reasons. And a breeder whom I visit frequently here in our city will ask if I have been to any kennels, pet store etc. Then spray disinfectant on my shoes etc park the car far away and come in.
I personally prefer using hand sanitizers before and after but ..........................this case is not acceptable at all.

How can you buy something with out seeing it ? Especially a puppy. If its a product .........like .........a laptop Lenovo T61 (for example)....... you can order it online as you know the model and how it looks like but coming to a puppy ...........you have 10 different puppies from the same litter and even thou its a very uniform litter each puppy is unique. (Even if its from a clone like we all saw a litter sometime ago here on PDB.)

Recently I was offered a top VA sired puppy from a top breeder but the dam is a light colored dog but from very good lines and I expressed my idea to see the puppy's pictures before I pay my non refundable deposit but the breeder says they cant hold the puppy for me but I cant pay big deposit with out seeing the puppy......... in shot ..........the breeder stopped communication for what ever the reason. FREE WILL ! ! ! .....................what can you say ??

Another red flag for me is the fact that this breeder sells pups online through Paypal. I've seen this before on other kennel websites and it doesn't sit well with me. Maybe I am missing something, but the fact that they seemingly sell pups without knowing anything about the buyer is concerning. Good breeders carefully interview the buyer for a variety of reasons. The first two being that they want to try and insure (to the best of their ability) that the pup will be a good match for the buyer and it will go to an appropriate forever home.  Of course, I may be jumping to conclusions regarding this kennel....

I live in the Tampa area. I am not a breeder. I purchased my GSD from Hunt German Shepherds
they are located in North Tampa. Very professional breeder.  Another breeder in the Springhill area
is Ehrenwald German Shepherds or Von Wittenberge in Lutz(Tampa). You can google their website's
and find contact info. I would highly recommend all of the above.

Good Luck to you.

Yeah I would run like the wind from that one.

Offcourse I don't know how things go in the USA as I do not live there, but how on earth are you going to buy a puppy without seeing it.

Search harder. Find a breeder that you trust and answers all your questions.

It's a dog for life and a decision should not be taken lightly .
