A Boston terrier found more than 200 miles away from home is finally back with his family.

"Frankie" was reported missing from his family's farm in Michigan. Five months later, he was found more than 200 miles away in Wheeling.

Frankie is one lucky dog. He wound up at the Wheeling Animal Hospital and Pet Resort.

"Definitely lucky," said Alyssa Roberts with the animal hospital. "We have a contract with the Wheeling police, and they bring in lost or stray dogs."

Wheeling resident Mark Feldstein found Frankie last Saturday.

"I opened up my car door. Frankie was there," he said. "He had no collars. He had no tags. He had nothing on him and he followed me to my front door."

Animal hospital officials contacted Frankie's family after finding their information on a microchip embedded under his skin.

"I'm very excited," said Frankie's owner, Denise Shepard, who lives in Battle Creek, Mich. "For five months he's been gone. I'm going to hug him and kiss him and I'm going to have him sing."

Frankie did "sing" when he was reunited with Shepard, howling with delight at seeing his family again.
