I have noticed in so many previous threads that (Americans, British, German etc) on this forum think that what goes in their beloved countries applies to all countries and is same in other countries, well this is absolutely not true.
In your countries there are dog organizations like FCI, SV etc, and there are training clubs where you train your dogs for show, shutzhund, PPD etc. In many other countries all this is not available. I can give you an example my own country (Jordan) and all its neighbouring countries except Israel, there are no Dog Organizations, no training clubs etc. Even govt. does not have a system for registering dog kennels officially. Even Animal rescue centers have power to make trouble for a citizen who breeds his dog at his own home.
In Jordan, if you start a personal dog kennel, it is very difficult to get SV or FCI registration papers for your puppies born in Jordan. If your dog was imported as a puppy into Jordan you can not get him cleared for hips from SV or FCI or get him KKL, all what you can do is your vet makes a health check including X rays and tells you if breedable or not. You can not get him a title in here or any sort of training in a club as there are no clubs. A private trainer can train him in obedience and what is called here property protection training which is almost not very good.

I just wanted you to know it is not same everywhere.

Thanks

Rosey,

Good suggestion,

A friend of mine and myself, both of us have pure bred GSDs imported from Germany and Czech, show lines and working lines, we had many requests from friends to breed our dogs, reason is that those friends can not afford importing puppies from abroad, too costly for them. We had many discussions and in the end we agreed that my friend starts breeding as his dogs are older than mine. I am still not very sure I will breed my dogs as my wife is against the idea, but I am keeping it in mind. Maybe 2nd phase will be to start a club, that would be a great step in the right direction. Now in regards to breeding we are not very sure how we should go about it as we can not take money for puppies from close friends and family members. Moreover in our society people look down to those who breed dogs for money. We agreed that from each litter some puppies will be sold for very reasonable price (USD 400), some will be given for free especially to those who have disability issues, university students, close friends and family members.
2nd thing is the health issues, we agreed that if a dog will not get a green light from vet that he or she can be bred, this dog will not be bred ever and be neutered, but we are thinking of a way that we can verify whether the judgement of the vet is true or not before neutering a costly dog.

Thanks for the knowledge Ibrahim. Very interesting. I would also like to add if you doont mind it is similar in the states also. Not all states have clubs around or locally. We have an American Show Dog Club but we dont have a Local Active Schutzund club. We have one but its not very active due to the fact that the president had surgery on his hands and there isnt much going on anymore. We MAY have a SCH show once every 3 years MAYBE and with way economy is makes it hard for people to travel around. Thanks feels good to know thats its like this in many places

Yes it feels good to know that there are similar cases around, frankly I wouldn't imagine that in some parts in the U.S there could be a similar situation, here we look with great respect and admiration to the U.S for being leader almost in all aspects.
I wish things get better at your side and my side very soon.

Thanks for sharing

Regards
Ibrahim

2nd half of last year and this year so far is the worst, going very slow. I myself is a civil engineer, I have my own construction establishment (grade 4, the highest is 1st and lowest 6th, so a small establishment), I take building construction contracts from the Jordam Ministry of Public Works. This year's budget of the Ministry for construction was cut down by 30%, so you can imagine how bad the situation is nowadays.

Well said Ibrahim,
I have a friend in India that has asked me to come out and help them train and learn SchH and other aspects of the training world..They have conformation clubs but nothing to test the temperament of the dog. In Austrailia I know of a few people that are trying to get SchH and PPD training OKd. So you are very right that not all countries are the same. Not all areas of the states are the same.People where I am think spending $100 on a dog is too much and would never even think about training their dog. They know nothing of the competition world nor do they care. They think I am nuts for caring about a dogs pedigree and wanting to see the parents, breeder, get the papers and litter and know what their temperament is. So there are differences all over.

Hope you are having a good evening it is a beautiful day here.

I think I know about how things are in some other places in the world better now. By the way I want you to know that I enjoyed your recent threads very much and found them interesting and educating, all the knowledgable members debating, sharing info and their experience. Thanks for that.
