Quite simply the people of Greece do not want to be taxed to pay off there debt, They expect everyone else in the European community to bale them out of trouble Gratis Free, That is wrong and out of order they pay there way like anyone else, borrow the money they can, but pay it back they must they had the good times now pay the price

Actually almost all sections of Greek society and labour groups representing the lower and middle class have been demonstrating against; not only the current government but governments before.

Reason being: The people believe that money 'seemingly' not to be there any longer for covering pensions, unemployment and generally anything to do with the welfare of their country, was there because they (the people have already over the last 20-40 years paid and have had these moneys deducted from their pay cheques)

The people feel that, the Governments who are respnsible for misappropriated large sums; should now balance the books by puting the funds back in the relevant accounts...and NOT the people.

So 'steve1' It would be like the managing director of your company taking company funds and putting same in his swiss account, putting the company in major debt, then the banks seeking from the empoyees to carry the load! Dont believe all that you read in the papers and/or the likes of CNN.

Anyway even though I am not there, I have family and many friends...and there would be absolutely NO problems for those wishing to make the trip to the Greek Sieger Show.

Good luck!!

So apoArmani, these riots are not MASSIVE then? It is safe to go to Greece without fear of getting drawn in to some massive riot?
