Best I could do for a "free stack"

by hodie on 30 April 2010 - 20:04

Pretty good for a free stack. The rear leg closest to us needs to be back and the front legs in alignment. Also take the photo from the side of the dog, a little above the back but not so far away or so high. Obviously, have to get the leash out of the way and not tangled around the legs.....

It is very difficult to photograph dogs alone.....LOL

How old is this dog? Looks young with some filling out to do as it ages.

He is a very pretty boy. Looks like he will be a BIG one...
Ok Hodie.....the topic line is......LOL! Looks like Im not the only one missing things these days.. Surely its not our eyesight. LOL..What ya think Hodie? you agree with me, its not our age.......

by hodie on 30 April 2010 - 21:04

Yes, sorry I typed too quickly as the header states the age. As I said, the dog has some filling out to do.

He looks nice, I prefer them a little richer in color.  The rear looks a bit overangulated, the shoulder a tad bit straight but hard to tell with this photo.  Top line and croup look good,  good tuck, nice depth of chest.  Ears a little wide set but maybe would perk up tighter.  Love his head, nice bone.  Can't see his feet so not sure about them but what little I see looks good.  You have a nice pup there.  I bet he fills out nicely as he gets older.  Enjoy him!

So...under the circumstances (standing and shooting a picture of your dog) we have to improvize - as you very well did!!  :))

He is large, strong (in bone), and slightly stretched proportions, a masculine head, his expression is good (would be a-lot better if he was looking at something like a ball thrown around). He has dark eyes, and v.good muzzel development. High and long withers. Very good top and underline, slightly short and slightly steep croup, well developed forechest, whilst the upper arm is long enough - it should be better angled, very good hind angulation although may-be a touch accessive. Seems like he stands correctly straight - from the front but we can not see whether his hock joints are close or not.

Now lets see you take a video of him comming and going and once around - so we can complete the critique on-line :))))

...Continued from above: Right ear slightly lose while moving (should/must be firm as he gets older) , keeps a high wither, seems to have firm back and firm enough hocks with an overall correct sequence of steps, sufficient hind drive although the reach should be better.

Trust that helps...
