I watched a program today about a young Family in the USA who had lost there Father, I  did not switch on to know how he died but his wish was to provide a new home for his family
It seems the house they had was a wood framed building looked it but had Mould of some kind and was not really habitable to live in, So this company or TV station called ABC  not sure which stepped in and with the help of the local town folk built the family a brand new Stone Clad House, It was huge, it  made my little house look like a dolls house
But the amazing thing was how they did it
The old house was flattened in 3 minutes, Then the site cleared and levelled the Concrete came in for the Base, It must have been one hell of a quick setting Concrete,
For they built the whole 7 bedroomed house in 53 hours 57 minutes including the fittings, painted etc
You cannot get better than that, Plus they gave the Widow a extra long brand new UV
They had the work force to do the job and it was planned to a T,  but a fantastic effort allround

I think the show is Extreme Makeovers. A reality show that rebuilds homes for people who have had something tragic happen in their lives and cannot afford to fix up their homes.
I have watched a few episodes and it is amazing, I always cry though. It's very touching.

"Extreme Home Makeovers"  on the ABC network, Steve.  It is a television show that builds a home for a well-deserving family every week.   They come in, get local craftsmen and companies to donate time and materials and throw up a very nice house.    Of course, they need the cooperation of the weather...which they found out the hard way when they tried it in the Pacific Northwest a few years ago.  The project was held up for a long time, due to heavy rains.

Although it is a nice deed, I've heard that many of these people can't afford the homes that are built. The heat, taxes, insurance, etc. are more than they can deal with.

True Sam, they have no idea what the upgrade will cost them, and not that they can't do it, they are just totally unprepared.

Lavk-9. I remeber that show... I watched it. If I remember correctly, the girl had a horse also, a paint, if memory serves me right. That was an awesome  show one of my favorites. Very emotional as I have had a fantasy with our native american ways and beliefs...
