Okay so I went out to the kennel today and found my female shepherd is having a mucous like discharge from her vagina. It doesn't seem to have an odor and its a whitish maybe very pale yellow/green color. I can't get a vet on the phone and did an ask online question and was told could be a pyometra and should see vet right away.
I can't get to a vet until tuesday and wondered if I should be treating with any antibiotic or if anyone has any advice to offer?

There are two kinds of Pyometra closed and open. If it is Pyometra be glad she is discharging. I have had experience in this and you do not win. I would get her to a vet soon because her uterus could be filling up. My female when they went in to spay her her whole uterus was filled and broke open and lucky she lived. I do not want to scare you put this is serious if it is.

Yes you need to get this checked out, but if she is otherwise apparently healthy - with no high temperature, excessive thirst etc, the chances are its just a vaginitis, a vaginal infection not affecting the uterus, she probably will still need antibiotics, but if she is acting normally I would wait to see the vet first.

She and I corresponded last night and she will be taking the dog to the vet today. OSO, nice to see you posting. How is SA? Your dogs? You?
