They got her. And for crying out loud, she's a vet tech!

Courage isn't out of the woods yet, but he's doing well considering. His former owner (I think we can call her that) claims the whole story isn't known. Perhaps, but the only excuse I can think of for letting a dog starve and dehydrate to the point of death is the unattended and unnoticed death of the owner.

I started a new thread since the original Courage thread was getting long.

I hope they throw the book at her but, what is sad is she will probably receive a slap on the wrist.

Get well Courage you are the man.

Thanks for the update!  We had a power outage after a microburst and I had no computer.  What a piece of garbage, to let that dog get to that condition when she is a "vet tech"?  No excuse, hope they throw the book at her.

What possible "rest of the story" could possibly "justify" what she did to this dog??? The fact that she is a professional employed in, supposedly, the health and well-being of animals should lead to a judge enhancing any sentence meted out to her.

I wonder how she treats her child.

I hope she loses her license.  I've been a licensed foster parent in the past, and any convictions involving crimes against children or animal cruelty would automatically mean my license was revoked.  How could any vet clinic be sure she was thoroughly doing her job?

I do think the whole thing is very strange, things are not adding up.  Vet techs don't make a lot of money, the ones I know go into the field because they are dog lovers.  The dog was in a crate in the garage but his stomach was full of dirt and gravel? It's just so crazy, the whole thing.  Obviously the worst is what was done to this poor dog, I can't even wrap my mind around it, and I agree there is no good reason or excuse.  But there is something very strange going on, the disconnect alone is beyond belief.   How does someone knowingly allow a dog to starve to the very brink of  death?  How do you knowingly walk by every day?   This is so disturbing I want to know what the hell happened.  The fact that the person who initially rescued the dog but refused to give her name to the authorities is weird.   What the hell?

I firmly believe karma has special plans for "people" like this, and ALL animal abusers! I'd like 5 minutes alone with this piece of crap excuse for a human being.  I sure hope the dog pulls through, he's made it this far, he must be a fighter.

I agree that things are not adding up.  The person who rescued the dog is not the same person who turned him over.  So there was a third person involved.  If the dog was in a crate, in the garage, how did someone know he was being starved?  How did he get dirt in his stomach?  This POS would have had to have given permission for the dog to be taken from her garage.  I agree, it's too much to wrap your mind around, just doesn't make any sense.  I wonder if we'll ever really know the story?
