You first came in to this world with your eyes closed and cold
Never knew what to expect in the dark cold world
All you knew was that you were hungry and cold
Never knew who you would become
You opened your eyes to your family
I never left your side
I was very fascinated by you and you were fascinated by me
You were so cuddly and cute
You loved to play with me
You never wanted to disappoint
You started to get bigger and didn’t know what to expect
Now you were barking with a loud Woof, it was kinda scary at 1st
Do you remember?
You were the best friend anybody could have
You never got angry, yelled or fought with me
You were so loyal and proud
Never had a friend quiet like you
Took you to your 1st show, do you remember?
You were so confident and proud
I could tell in your eyes that you wanted to impress me
And you did
I saw the determination and unconditional love in your eyes that I will never forget
You won your first show, do you remember?
I always knew from the 1st time I saw you that you were very special
You and I knew that you were destined to be KING
You became more than that
You became an Emperor, Ambassador, a Legend
You were the most talked about Deutsche Schaferhund in the world
You were always greeted with camera flashes
People wanted to see you and be close to you
Do you remember?
You were special my dear friend
Remember when you got sick? I never felt so sad and helpless
All I wanted to do was to make you better
I am sorry my dearest friend
I remember hugging you goodbye
Do you remember? Maybe I should have hugged you tighter…
I don’t think I could have had
You looked so tired that day, never seen you like that
I knew you didn’t want to disappoint me by closing your eyes
Go to sleep my dearest friend
It’s okay, you could never disappoint me
You are the best friend I ever had and ever will
Don’t fight sleep my dear friend
I held you and told you “I promise I will see you again”
And than you closed your eyes
I never felt so empty as I did that day
Never felt so alone without my dear friend
My best friend was asleep to never wake again
I will miss you my friend
You will never be forgotten
I will make sure that your memory will live forever
You have passed on but you will never be forgotten
