London

by London on 20 September 2009 - 16:09

Hey Everyone!!

I'm back from my hiatus. I took a cue from "gsdtravels" and took my guy(s) out west for the summer. They were amazing campers/adventurers and we had the summer of a lifetime. We even hiked up a glacier together! Here's a couple of shots of my guy (now 18 months) having a blast in the lakes & Pacific Ocean in BC, and one of us (and Rob's Golden) walking down from the glacier in Alberta.

It will take some time to catch up on all the posts I've missed, but I hope you all had a great summer and that all is well with you and yours.

Karen

Bounding after the ball

In the Pacific Ocean in BC

I'm showing this one to my vet so he'll finally understand when I say "he really drives after the ball" everytime I bring him in because he's hurt a toe or his foot. Thank goodness this is on sand :-)

I wish the shots were a bit clearer, but it was really foggy on the beach this day

This is the Athabaskan Glacier in the "Icefield Corridor" in Alberta. Yes, I have boots on the dogs. We were a long way from a vet and I wasn't going to take a chance.

Looks like a good time had by all. What a wonderful way to spend the summer. Has been a lot of accusations on the board of someone being jealous of someone else, Well, I am very jealous of your trip.

I missed you too! Thought you'd drifted on and away, LOL! Thanks for sharing your pics, looks like everyone had a blast. Welcome back.

Well I'm usually jealous of most board member's dogs, their property, their weather, etc.  so I think I could fit that bill :-) & thanks Beetree, it's good to be back. I am, however, saddened to hear how many people are suffering bad times. My best wishes to everyone.

Hey London, you made it to the destination I didn't, LOL.  I wanted to get to Banff and Jasper but didn't get that far.  Were you at the Columbia Ice Fields?  I was there many years ago and it was beautiful.  I still plan on making it up there, the timing will have to be worked out.  Your pics are splendid, looks like a good time was had by all!  Glad I was a bit of inspiration

Hey GSDtravels - My cyber-kindred-spirit. I'm thrilled to see you're still happy and safe. Are you finished travelling for now or are you settled down for a bit? Yes, we drove the Icefield Corridor. That's where the Athabaskan Glacier is. The dogs did have a spectacular time. Now, it's back to the routine. Bit of a drag really. I think we all have wanderlust right now.

Yes, alas, I'm off of the road for now.  Waiting to get things settled (hopefully within the month) and will be looking to relocate.  I'm thinking south, probably Florida, maybe the Carolinas.  I'm rooming with a friend right now, don't want to really "settle in" because I'm not planning on staying.  Also looking at a new job where travel will be not only possible, but necessary!  I got the bug and it bit me good!  I'd travel for the rest of my life if I could afford it.  But, not matter where I go, or where I settle, I can promise two things; my life will always be an adventure and my best friend will remain at my side.
