Is it some sort of magical phenomenon or do GSD just attract mainly as33holes as owners ! Since I have owned a purebred GSD it seems I have met or ran into more plain ole but holes that own them also! Is it some kind of disease that comes with the dog and only affects humans! I am not trying to be an arse but I notice that more and more people I meet that own GSD are just plain ole pains in the buts ! I need more input to reconcile my conclusion! Please help me to understand so I do not loose more sleep!

People enoy the anonymity of the internet.  The GSD is a popular breed.  Ego, insecurety, and a slew of other things brewing behind a computer screen let loose in a public message board probably gives you this impression of GSD owners.

Some people live for there dogs, compensating for what they lack personally.

Some people like the controlling sound of loudly voiced german comands to make them feel important.

Some people simply want to feel important when in reality, not so much.

Some people just like to hear themselves talk..

My two cents....lol

I've met a lot of people that own GSD, raymond...

Some of them have been plain clueless, some have been very rude and nasty, but most have been strongly opinionated, compassionate, and decent.   Not sure how to answer your question, based upon my experience.  If you mean the outstanding disagreements between liberals and conservatives, as the ongoing argument on your other thread suggests, well, it's not about the breed of dog owned.  Even if none of us owned GSDs, or dogs at all, we still wouldn't always agree, so that's just the way it is.

There's no point in arguing with people.  You can get nasty and rude, but all that does is cement their opinions of the subject at hand, and gets the nasty and rude turned right back at you.  Therefore, don't waste your time arguing.  Really, we are here to network over our dogs, and though I do post to both OT and on topic threads, I do agree that all things that are posted need to be checked for accuracy before being posted.  Posting things that are just made up (by either Dems or Reps), without any substance, does no one any good, and makes people look like fools.

And for those complaining, again, about the OT threads...At least it's not palerider and his filthy posts, filthy language (although Sueincc has been using a bit of filthy language in this thread), and his other unpleasantness.  I'll take OT politics of palerider and the GSlover drama any day.

Just my honest opinon, for what it's worth.

First off I haven't even posted to this thread Crys, second, I am not a "he".  Third, why you want to call me out on a thread I have not even read or been a part of is strange, but OK, let's go:

Now explain to me how in your head it's fine as frogs hair for the originator of this thread to at various times use "foul" language and also spew   racial epithets with impunity or Maggs who likes to call me a vagina (and I think we know what the little minx really means), so you tell me, is it OK with you that it is absolutely implied but not spelled out? Is that where you draw the line?   Or does it make it OK if you do spell the offending word out so long as you  put symbols where some of the letters should be, is that what makes it acceptable to you?

So let me be sure I understand because I would not want it said that I did not understand your intent:  The intent of a sentence, what is implicitly implied isn't a problem for you, so long as code words are used (like pee pee for piss and poo for shit and v or vagina instead of cunt and a##holes for assholes).  Or is the difference these silly little euphemisms are OK, so long as it is coming from someone with whom you tend to agree politically?

See I really want to understand you, seeing as you see fit to call me out when I wasn't involved in this thread, which I think is actually pretty chicken shit of you - oops there I go again, another bad word, FUCK, I hope your ears don't fall off.

Raymond is isn't the GSD breed that attracts ass##s it is the personality of the author - the person speaking to the GSD owner ----hostility begets hostility - and you got it brother.....

I agree with Slamdunc - Raymond ------ include yourself in on the Assholes that own a GSD...if you would say what you do in real life and mixed company - you would be a person sitting alone......... There are ass's that own every type of dog or even those that don't own dogs at all -  you are an agressive individual that if you were a GSD you would bite the person walking down the road...and if you communicate with people,in person the way you do on this PDB,then I am sure you are greeted with hostility......as well as you will on this post.  Your religion and views on GSD are cramed down indviduals throats.... of course you would get ass###s from every which way.....

- My Momma always said, "if there is a probably with everybody else- then maybe you need to look at yourself - it can't be the entire world that has the problem and you are the only normal person....."  "Maybe it is YOU!"

People aren't that bad - but the individual himself inflicts crap on himself........strickly by his own actions..  Just my point of view - I haven't found that many ass'''''' that own GSD....  but I am not the one that thinks GSDowners are A''''''''''''s.....You can always trade in your GSD for a poodle - I am sure those "people" might be more to your liking......

Happyday

Well Jim I suppose I could say that yes sometimes I am an asshole! I will not deny it! Only problem is I was like that before I got a GSD ! I hope that most who own them were not before they got one! I am not concerned about the criticism! I have lived long enough to see past all the superficial bs most people spew! But is is true when I say that since owning a gsd I have met more pains in the ass in the past 2 years associated with GSD than in all my past years! No I appreciate your candor Jim  and pardon me when  I say  I think the yankess and the red soxs aare overrated. I think that live for schutzhund has hit the nail onethe heat! Time and time again I ask myself is it really worth all the hoops and bull poop that I have to put up with to train a dog? To listen to all the club backstabbing ! vicous remarks by different dog owners! the brutality of dog competition! From the owners and not the dogs!A woman told me once that the freakin dog cares nothing about the trophies or the ribbons! It is the owner who wants all that! Well just some food for thought!

Geez GTR -- When you saw the word "GSD" in the Topic, did you jump right over here on this Thread?   Naw, I don't think so.....I'm sure it was when you saw  "A##holes" and "you were pulled toward the Thread."
