You are still the "self proclaimed Guardian of the Breed", you are still the "self proclaimed premier GSD organization" in this country, why do you need to destroy another organization to maintain that status?
Egg-xactly!
The JG Amendment made USA look weak and scared. I sure don't get it. Wallace Payne, thanks for the great post, but it does still leave a question as to why the info on the world show is down? Do you have any info on that? (And IS it down? I have to admit I am just taking the word of those who are saying it is down, I havn't looked).
USA's decision to further split the schutzhund sport up is a classic example (as some people have stated so well above) "you can hang together or hang seperately". If (heaven forbid) PETA came after the sport of schutzhund right now, I wonder if USA "management" would work to circle the wagons or still be "better than thou"?
I for one am very interested to see the world GSD show held in the US, to see what manner of dog wins.

"to see what manner of dog wins"
What are you talking about? The same manner that won here in 2008, the same manner that wins every year, regardless of where the competition is held!

Liesjers,
Glad that you appreciated the recent WDA Bylaw change ballot! The WDA membership has overwhelmingly approved the direct election of two officer positions on the WDA Board. (In the past, these positions were appointed by the President).
The membership has also, overwhelmingly, voted to stagger the terms of office among Board members.
Proposals to come before the Board in July include more changes as to how the WDA Board is chosen. If passed, even more WDA Board positions will be directly elected by the WDA membership.
There has been no "coup". There has been a resignation. The work of the WDA Board will go forward, regardless.
