I think it's useful for some of us to meet in the real world. It's kind of like a rescue group doing a home visit. I'm glad that three or four of you have actually been to my house and I to a couple...I'm sure Mrs. Clean (Rugers_Guru) will be able to claim that although my windows are filthy, my dog room is immaculate and my dogs and hens are happy!  Of course, she DOESN'T know about all the old men buried out there. Bwaaa-ah-ah! Gee Rugers, now you know why I'm cementing over the front yard!

But really....it's hard to just accept the word of a group of people you will never meet. It's probably a REALLY BAD IDEA to take their word for their own honesty and kindness.

That's all true, but there are little things you can pay attention to. Like for example, if someone is continually posting pics of their dog, while it may cross the line into annoying, lol, you can be reasonably sure the dog is fed. This is something I had always noticed about another kennel associated w/scandal,  Alt-Ostland. There were only ever show pics of the dogs, taken many years ago. No random out-in-the-backyard or on the couch pics.A long time ago I asked for pics of a pup and she couldn't be bothered. I also asked for pics of the parents other than the database pics and there were none. Odd, don't you think?  It's a little detail, and certainly you can't say everyone who isn't a regular photographer abuses their dogs, but if you are seeing constantly updated pics of a dog, you can be fairly confident it is not being abused or neglected. Now, I know not everyone takes hundreds of pics of them per week, as I do, but one would think you would've taken a camera out just once since acquiring the animal if you see them as anything but dollar signs.

And yes, there are several on here who will tell you my front door has mud all over it- even 6' high, my Chihuahua steals cookies off the kitchen counter,my baby usually has a clump of dog or cat fur in his hand and my Pit Bull has a general lack of manners and an over the top, out of control tendency toward being the happiest dog in the world which really annoys guests. But I'd rather have people know these little imperfections rather than wonder what's going on behind closed doors. Anyone who gets a pup from me (or anyone else for that matter) is welcome to stop by and see the beasts for themselves. Except Caleb of course. I charge admission to glance at him. ROFL

Hmmm, I had never thought of that (about the pics), but it is true that almost all of the dog lovers I know take a bazillion pics of their dogs. Me and my best friends exchange dog pics like people exchange baby pics. I'm always sending what I think are really cool pics of me and my dogs to my parents and they're like...ok, where are the pictures of the Smokey Mountains you were supposedly vacationing in??

I thought dog footprint smears 6-feet up the front door was normal.....  You mean that isn't?????????

I am always glad to share pictures of my dogs and other animals.  I drive people at work nuts with my screen saver slide show, animals and more animals.

Lauren, you can always pay via PayPal in advance. I offer a discount of 5% off for every month you book in advance. Secure your dates now! You never know when he'll be hit by a car....par for the course as they (BSCP) say.

If you're really nice, however, I might give you an extra minute to peer through the peephole, free of charge.

Animules, I thought they were normal too until someone pointed them out. My Pit springs up and does it when he tries to peer in the tiny window at the top of the door while waiting to be let in. lol

Jenni, glad to know I'm not the only one with dogs looking in the window, even when they have to bounce 6-feet to do so!

Animules, people have been shocked at how high the muddy footprints are, lol. And also the dents in my doorknobs from teeth;-)

Lauren, perhaps that could be arranged. I asked Caleb and he said "show me her picture first." <rolleyes> He's male, after all.
