It is interesting that someone here said that they  have imported dog from "czeck"   but do not even know how to spell it .What else have you missed during such import?
Please keep in mind that all is well until problem arrives. Many breeders in foreign countries  are there to take advantage of people who do not know any better. Good importer will weed these out and guarantee you such dogs here in USA and give you continuous support.
Also let me say that I am not the only  importer, there are other respectable importers out there who provide valuable service and peace of mind.

You know I have Well OVER 5000 usd in training in my dog so far that is just the training. I am not counting travel time, equipment and food, vet bills and so on!. I am sick and tired of people who expect everything for nothing. I say, buy a puppy, raise it, train it, get it to trials and hope the hips and elbows come back good and then see how much your price a dog that is a nice producer on top of that.

Brokers ask money to cover the cost and than some so they dont work for free. I spend a lot of time on the phone, try to "make" everybody happy and I listen. But If somebody tells me that they want a dog for 3000 bucks that has KKL, ZVV1 or SchH1 title and good hips and is a good producer... well too bad. You might get a nice potentially good 12 month old with prelims done. I will not allow hard working people not to get paid.

But this has nothing to do with the OP.. I just needed to vent after today's phone call from a Gentleman who wanted all for nothing and got lippy with me!

I like this response:

" I say, buy a puppy, raise it, train it, get it to trials and hope the hips and elbows come back good and then see how much your price a dog that is a nice producer on top of that."

I won't knock anyone who tries to get a deal on a dog at a cheaper rate.  Hell there is nothing wrong with asking and seeing if you can get what you are looking for at a price you can afford.  You might ask on a good day and the seller might be in a great mood and do it.  You never know till you try.  The seller is in the business of making money and trying to get what they can and the buyer is in the business of trying to get all they can't at a price they can live with.

No one wants to be taken advantage of on both sides of the fence.

Breeders shouldn't take it so personal.  Hell if I go to buy a car do you think i give a rat's ass about how the dealer treated the car and everything they did with it (if it is used)??  Hell no, I want the car for cheap and I want everything under the sun.

I am using this definition of a good deal: " The buyer and the seller are both happy. If one of them is not happy it is not a good deal."

And that is why I will not undersell. If somebody is desperate to sell a dog with everything for cheap. I feel for them. I am not hard on people I just will not undersell a dog. They can go to somebody else and hope they get all they thing they could .... or they get exactly what they pay for and get stuck with it and then re-sell and so on.

My Dear Prager, thanx for that spell check, wait chech.oh fudge!! i can't spell.

by the way the pups were from your partner Jiri!!!!

all went well with him.
why jump all over someone for no reason.
you couldn't let that go huh?
i was talking about a good experience i had doing it all alone, and didn't understand why someone,
if they do their homework,
should need someone else to find them a dog.

YOU had to go and turn it into a spell check issue.
simply amazing and unreal.

I certainly agree that if both the buyer and the seller are happy then it is a good deal.

I certainly understand not wanting to undersell a dog.  I am sure that is does happen especially if you find a buyer who you have a good feeling about and they just don't have the finances for it.  It all depends on the situation/circumstances.

Dear Tomf
That does not change anything.  Jiri is an  honest man and I have said that there are many such breeders, but still if you buy a dog from anybody there  and something goes wrong , like with hips or what ever or you need help with training, behavior advice  or if you can not keep the dog, or want to breed the dog and need pedigree evaluation, or  you need to ship the dog back for replacement   it will cost you extra in comparison of shipping is to a person here in USA. There are many potential other problems, like with customs, health department and so on. The only reason why you do not see why to get honest importer is beneficial is because you do not know what can get get wrong. Blissed ignorance. That is why I have jumped all over you. Because you do not know what you are saying about potential pitfalls to  people who do not buy dogs from even honest people there.  But I am glad that you and anybody who got dog there is happy. So it is not about spelling only.  Even so it could be.   By the way I am by nationality Czech and it chops my hide if someone who buys dog there can not even learn ho to spell the name of the country. It is an arrogant  insult to me and just about  anybody there especially if you think that it is funny to misspell the name of their home land.
People from small countries are like that .
Take care
Prager Hans
