Ron needs to be nominated from the floor to run as President. He has all the qualifications. He's the absolute clear choice. Tim works his but off in the trenches. He's behind the scene making things go as smooth as possible at the events along with is other duties. I'm not seeing any need for change in this dept.

The problem with nominations from the floor is none of the delegates will be prepared to vote for them as they are unknown until the meeting is in session. Do the bylaws require nominations from the floor to be considered? I'm thinking they may not. When I read Sturgis, It looked like there may be situations where the nominations could be closed, But, I'm no expert.

USA needs Ron as president. There's no other person with his knowledge of all sides of the German Shepherd. He's participated at the National Level at both working trials and sieger shows with dogs that he trained. He has the corporate experience, the time, and the resources. No one else comes close. I'd pay double the membership fee to be in any GSD organization he's the President of.

I disagree - USA needs a new National Breed Warden, desperately.  Being "in the trench" myself as a member of the now-non-existant BAC and party to the now-non-existant discussions about breeding, registration, and SS issues makes this more than clear to me.

I agree Ron would make a fantastic President - however there is a clear political agenda against him coming from the club, Regional and now obviously National level.  He was not "chosen" by the nominating committee despite his giving them an interview just like all of the other candidates - this should make it very clear he will be blackballed just as he has been in our Region.  Splitting the votes with another President candidate will only make it harder to change leadership, as is so important IMO.

Changes for the sake of change is no change at all. Change with a driven purpose and focused agenda is necessary, some thing lacking in this  election. No strong leaders in this fish bucket.

Change of any kind is better than remaining in the same hole we are in now.

I have known Ron Harris from when he campaigned Lars, to see him grow to a person that competed nationally in the sport. I don't know his leadership skills, but I do know his knowledge base of both show/work and his personality. I think he is a good candidate.

You find the same thing in all holes you dig dirt, and worms, The choice in diggers here is nothing to be happy about.  After the 2008 elections I thought people would of figured out change for the sake of it isn,t always better.

Bob,  equating this election and candidates running with  holes dug and dirt and worms is a little off center would you not think!  I we must make that comparison  then I say stop digging holes in dirt for our leadership! Instead water the grass  early in the evening and  wait until the night crawlers come to the surface and then pick em up off the ground! Makes for easier  catching and better worms! Usca needs  a whole new set of  leaders who are obliged to  impliment what the membership wants! we are not catching  any fish with the current leadership so it is time to cut bait and go home and look for better fishin grounds! does anyone know how many members usca lost because of  the ja amendment! I know our club lost almost half our membership! A move we could really not have afforded to loose! A shift of  that magnatude could have only been engineered from the top! And now the  candidates are only slinging mud!

Ray:
(Oh by the way love your icon i,m a muppet fan from WAY back)

Heres the rub. What does the membership want? I know what you want what Molly wants, what all the chat site folks wants how do you poll the membership?. I,ll wager to guess the biggest percentage don,t care they want to go some where and train there dogs and trial there dogs and have a good time.

The politicos are the hole diggers. The current administration (who I don,t always agree with) seems to have a good working relationship with the S.V. (I could care less)  and seem to have plans to effect a positioning of players on a world level (S.V. FCI ,ect...) okay I understand to those with a top performance and competition desire (by #,s a small percentage to the membership) this would be the smart move.

Those running for the electable office. Have you spent any time listening to this group(try the usagrassroots web site for one) They complain about the out of control and lack of accountable  spending of the current administration but there full of all new systems,projects,ect... constantly talking over each other and bitching about a dues increase. But where is the money going to come from to afford this? as I stated before you don't get a Cadillac making Pinto payments.

Then there are those who make a living training and titling dogs and teaching private groups which is fine I,m not damming any one for making a buck but many of them (and alot of them are the loudest ) lost  some small opportunities  to title and have more trials available for there clients to participate in so  there screaming foul no matter what the end result is they feel the organizations are there to supply them a capitol gain.

We need officers who are clear headed with achievable goals, with the ability to deal with other countries and organizations on a level Field of knowledge and understanding, and who can understand what priorities are to the membership that really count.

I,m not impressed with any of our group of choices. I do support USCA I do support my fellow club members,I do agree with a attainable agenda unfortunately no one has out lined that agenda that is running for office. I know with any furthering of the needs of the organization it will take money and a thick skin I,m not naive of the cost as most others should not be also.

The lack of common sense with this group is astounding!!!

Molly........what hole is the club in? And what experience does Matt have in dealing with the SV? WUSV? FCI? How will he handle the One Qualifier Trial? Lyle may not be the best communicator but he has the experience we will all need! He has dedicated much of his free time to UScA!
